Why would a Raptors fan care about what the Spurs are doing at the deadline though?

"all in" = pushing all of your chips into a pot, for example, poker

the fox trade, by your admission, did not use up many assets, practically none

    so...?

It’s a bit of a false narrative. We didn’t have to go all in on Fox because he basically told his team he wouldn’t resign with them, that he wanted to come here, and he let his agents steer other teams away by not committing to them long term if they traded for him. Him doing that allowed us to get him away from them for pennies on the dollar. “Going all in” on him would have been giving up 3-4 of our first round picks and perhaps even Castle to get a player like him, and we didn’t do that. We lucked out that he forced their hand. It’s that simple.

Those who didn’t want to go all in (like me) still feel that way. You can be excited about us getting him AND us holding onto our greatest assets at the same time. They aren’t mutually exclusive.

after the spurs traded kawhi for demar i predicted that the raptors would win it all.

    i was right.

an ST admin switched "My Team" to the raptors. i asked for it to be switched back, it's literally in the my posts.

but they never did. idc, just shows how right i was before.

We gave up a first that was at best 9-11 pick over three years where we already have five FRPs. Not counting the CHA pick which only will covey as two SRPs while we already had 4 SRPs next season. Then Spurs own FRP in 3 years. MN pick in 6 years. Unloaded Collins and freed up other needed roster spots.

I’m still team tank. Get Fox the thumb surgery. Play Kelton and Vassell during crunch time. Mitch just keeps being Mitch. And let’s add Flagg to our team.

18 posts and your 10 of them. I’m not one to go after posters but I guess I couldn’t resist the bait. Good luck with getting the attention you seem to be craving.

I like the Fox deal but I wouldn't call it "all in."

OP can't hide from his re ed take that the Spurs have the worst future in their division.

Spurs weren't all in. They were willing to walk away from the Fox trade if they didn't get the deal they wanted.

A possibility opened up and Fox fell to them at a good price.
