Fox said Castle was a big reason why he wanted to play here. Take that how you want it.
Not sure why I got duped but you need to watch his ROM highlights and it’s obvious he has vast potential. He’s playing way better as a starter and needs to stay in that same groove and role to have his best possible season.
Edit: and I agree his defense has been overrated and needs a lot of improvement.

CP3 to the bench just makes sense. otherwise we probably keep the same starters that we've been seeing. if vassell cant get his game back on track, then i agree with the suggestions to send him to the bench alongside paul. but i think you have to give the more talented vassell a shot to figure it out with the new pieces
could see the appeal of the strong bench unit though...
Fox/Castle/Champagnie/Barnes/Wemby
Paul/Vassell/Keldon/Sochan with either of Bassey/Mamu depending on matchups
I take it as Fox was the best Assistant GM imaginable during this entire process
I think we're all going to spot the glaring hole at the #4.
SA needs a big. Has for the last several years. Never gets addressed.
Our defense is still going to suck.
So, overall I don't see much change. New Era...same as the old Era unless those deficiencies are addressed.

The only alternatives were to either bench CP3 or start Castle at SF.
I can see Castle coming off the bench for the rest of the season (assuming CP3 isn't traded or bought out) and CP3 walking in the summer. Fox/Castle as the starters in the backcourt going forward looks like a strong combination, especially if Castle can get his 3P% to within sniffing distance of league average.
almost like they should get a head start on that now

This would be just idiotic from our side.
What's the point? Just to appease a 40-year old's ego? I could accept it if CP3 stays one more year and accepts a bench role, but we have nothing to gain with him starting next to Fox.
The way I see it, ideally we have a 9 man rotation next season.
Fox/Castle/Barnes/PF/Wemby
PG/Champ/SF/C
PF = Naz Reid, Aldama, PJ Washington or Jonh Collins.
PG = CP3 or a three level microwave scorer if he walks.
SF = '25 FRP.
C = reliable rim protector

If I'm simulating the season and playing offseason GM, assuming our best FRP is around 10, I'm trying to make this happen:
Fox/Castle/Barnes/Aldama/Wemby
Coby White/Champ/Sochan/Rasheer Fleming/C (tbd on this one...). Second FRP traded for a future FRP.
Next two relevant games are against Magic and Boston, I can't wait to see how CP3/Fox/Devin/Barnes matches up with Suggs/KCP/Franz/Banchero and Jrue/Derrick/Brown/Tatum.
It's not even about individual matchups, but getting killed on the boards and making Wemby's life really difficult.
