Be ok if Paul could point out to the coaching staff exactly who needs to be on the court in crucial situations. Jeez are the assistant coaches even helping with the rotations or are they just watching Mitch fail?
The cedar pollen has been nasty as the last few days (had been near 10,000 a couple of days ago). But damn I wonder how it's going to hit Victor when it's 20,000 to 30,000, or even the 60,000 to 90,000 it occasionally hits with strong cold fronts in January in non-drought years.

Sochan, Keldon, and Vassell are low IQ guys and should be expendable.
Our offense looks in shambles whenever anyone of them get the ball. It's been this way since last year.
Great game by Fox (really happy that it was a win for him as he was really, really good in his first game with the Spurs - I loved watching him play). I assume Victor was ill tonight as he did not look good for long stretches of this game, but he fought through it. Good win as I couldn't take anymore of those close losses, but man, this team doesn't have many smart players. I'd still like the Spurs to try and make another good trade if they can.
Rodeo Road Trip might be exactly the best thing for him right now
I like how when asked after the game how he thought his debut went, Fox only said "okay, good in the first half, not so good in the second half." He holds himself to a high standard.
Tired of teams going on heaters against the Spurs. Need to figure out how to take the hot hands out, and cover the perimeter better. Hard when Trae is playing well. Even Dom hit a three.
Single-handedly? He had 11/5/2 in 37 minutes of closeout game.
This season we won 2 games when Wemby plays and scores less than 23.
Keldon did not have a good game. The other two -- this is just a bad take.
Quick notes
Fox is awesome.
Vassell KJ Sochan are not. Still. I enjoyed seeing Fox give Vassell some minor for not passing to him wide open, instead taking a contested 3.
Wemby looks gassed af, what was that illness??
I liked the rotations to start the game. And there was a brief lineup of Fox Castle Champ Barnes and I think KJ or Sochan where the ball was absolutely ZIPPING around the court, and ATL was moving like a water balloon about to pop. Can’t wait to see more of that with those 4 + Wemby.
We got to see our dream lineup towards the very end of the game of 3 PGs, and it worked pretty well. Too bad ATL just went right at CP3.
Loved seeing CP3 get furious with Castle. And Castle just taking it.
When Fox or CP3 aren’t on the floor (and often when they are), Castle is the ultimate alpha. His talent naturally demands the ball, and creates something out of nothing every time. He just dominates the offensive end.
Looking forward to a Fox that’s more familiar with the system and a cardio’d Wemby.
The issue with Jeremy is that he keeps getting the short end of the stick with worst possible roles.
He's not a backup big and as a 6'9 wing he shouldn't be chasing the likes of Trae around.
Really hard to optimally develop that way.
Devin? Solid enough, but consistency is the issue with him. We'll see how the rest of the season goes.
Would be better if it was in January in that case, as that's when it typically gets really ugly. The bad thing is this is the weakest cedar pollen season I can remember in recent history because of the complete lack of rain after the hurricane in July.
Was Fox saying he was a bit out of shape, or was he referring to Victor?
Sochan and Vassell deserve the benefit of the doubt to see how they do the rest of the year with Fox. Keldon on the other hand? Nah, he should be traded or moved to a deep bench role (which would unfortunately further erode his dwindling trade value).
Sochan did fine tonight. Everyone's saying he couldn't contain Trae but he had to guard him because Castle couldn't. He was otherwise fine, good cuts, got boards. Vassell was fine, too. If there were hiccups it was trying to figure out new rotations and a new player.
I get Keldon, he was not good tonight.
I feel like the 'Vassell Keldon Sochan are low IQ they suck' thing is just fashionable for some reason when two thirds of that wasn't in evidence. Vassell even played pretty great defense.
Someone said Sochan rebounds well LMAO, 4 rebs is outstanding!
This may be a hot take because my Fox-based erection hasn’t gone down, but I think this was a damn good win.
-Wemby clearly is sick as . RJ called it when he said he’d rather play with a tweaked ankle than respiratory . Anyone who’s played sick would agree with him. Wemby was a sieve defensively at times, that is an aberration.
-Fox, my god, what a ing first half. The dude is so ing fast, and you can already see the fit. Plays like the Wemby put back off of the Hawks collapsing on Fox is a sign of things to come.
-Defense. I never appreciated how defense-focused Fox is. You could see it show at times; his speed really helps him on that end. It’s not hard to envision Fox/Castle being a nightmare together, especially with their combo of speed and strength.
-Most importantly, we didn’t choke. This was a classic “Spurs lose game after having a big lead.” ATL was also highly incentivized considering the draft implications. Fox has no idea what our sets are, but we still played cohesively enough to get the W. I think this was quality.
I was gonna say this (in terms of his performance). Had an A++ first half, and a meh 2nd half. Though some of his misses, the midrange jumper at the left wing and the layup were really sorry misses/roll outs.
He appears to share the same cedar pollen allergy that makes so much of San Antonio miserable from around Christmas to early February most years. If you're not from the area it's a really nasty pollen from the juniper ashe trees that are all over the Hill Country northwest of town. The releases pollen in the winter and the symptoms of it for me at least are identical with when I have had COVID, eg a throat that feels like you're gargling razor blades and massive nasal congestion.
NBA players are bound to punish you for being left open from 3. Even us morons know this but the coaching staff has run this type of "defense" since last year.
Yup, and the flu is going around the city like herpes.
I used to have annual respiratory infections/bronchitis because of this . It’s ing disgusting.
Just going off the last few minutes of the 4th quarter:
Sochan throws an absolutely terrible pass to Wemby, which had no shot of getting to Wemby.
5 seconds left into the shot clock, Sochan drives to the lane - he should create his own shot, instead, he passes it to Wemby who was surprised and threw up a clanker.
Fouls Trae Young in the last few minutes, but I can't blame him for this one, that was just good foul-baiting by Young, anyone would have fallen for that.
There were so many possessions where Sochan didn't know what to do with the ball, and in essence, the team doesn't know what to do either. We already have plenty of veterans like Barnes and Paul - even they seem flabbergasted by Sochan and Vassell's bonehead plays at times. IQ is something that's hard to develop, and those three (Sochan, Keldon, and Vassell) just don't seem to have a lot of it.
Yep, I'd get pretty sick from this stuff every year when I lived in SA, when I moved away I was shocked that I was no longer getting sick every winter.
Worst part is you ing never get a tolerance to it no matter how long you live in the area.
