Do you mean the two 2025 firsts or one them + another down the road (Celtics/Sac swaps etc..)?

That being said. This is what small, unglamorous markets are up against in this league. A twilight Durant nixing a move to the clearly second best team in the West and one of smartest run organizations in recent years. Unless you have the crown jewel (Wemby, James), nobody will give you a look as a destination.

Not sure, just feel like it'll cost the equivalent of two 1sts.

Between Wembanyama, how well he'd fit with Fox + the need for shooting and size at forward and whatever cache the Spurs have remaining, my sense is he'd be more amendable to the Spurs than most places. Who knows though obviously.

Luka isn’t in Dallas any more.
I had to reread what he said as I read it quickly the first time, but I think he was saying when Luka was in Dallas, he had two A grade athletic centers to play with, and now on the Lakers, Mark Williams doesn't rate as highly athletically compared to either of the centers Luka was playing with.

    Yeah, that was my take.

Think the Lakers are asking for trouble in handing a young big (with a significant Back and Foot injury history), indispensable Offensive and Defensive responsibilities for a Luka lead team.

If I’m Luka I am getting out of LA. I’d honestly go to MIA. That team knows how to develop players and they spend money and constantly put together good rosters.

Btw: That TNT All Star Draft seemed kinda scripted but I love what it gave us (Team Legends vs Team Young Guns vs Team International).

Right now Luka does not want to be a Laker. That bigger market stuff does not move those euro dudes.

The Lakers got a lot of work to do to try and keep him long term. I think he signs the extension. But if there is a path for him to get to his brother from another mother, Jokić, he should take it.

Curry blowing layups and LeBron hitting logo 3s.

Warriors really convinced themselves they can still contend with this version of Curry as their best player.

Kings up 4 over the Blazers with 2 minutes to go in the 3rd. Need the Blazers to pull this out out and for the Lakers to beat the Warriors

Blazers up 2 after 3. Kings look kind of disjointed and sloppy. Big Daddy can still grab boards with the best of 'em tho

In 2022 Luka got to the WCF with Dwight Howard and Maxi Kleber as his centers.

Nice. Higher chance that the Spurs pass the Kings on the way to the play-in, and that the Blazers finish with a better record than the Hawks.

Somehow the Clippers got worse with Kawhi. 9-8 since he came back. A shadow of the player he once was, at least up until now..

They are little far ahead, but I could see LAC (28-23) dropping to the play-in mix if this slump continues.

A little, but they didn't have much to trade and are probably thinking that getting Gordon healthy and guys like Strawther improving is enough for a decent playoff run.

I liked Luka but it’s a concern that he’s always hurt. I think he likes the glamour and lights. But when the Lakers are not cashing in, he will hear about his weight. And he’s not really the most liked guy in the NBA. Will there be big names lining to play with him? I seriously doubt it.

they are also very strict on all of their players being in top shape and not coming into camp fat. I doubt that's Luka's forte.

It'll be funny to see so many ppl eating their words regarding Nico in a couple years...

I think one of the challenges will be to have a roster that is adapted and likes Luka. Especially when Lebron, who likes him and will help at the beginning, is gone.

Mavs had to trade players bc of incompatibility and his heliocentric game isn't to please most players in general. Kyrie accepted it bc he got old and it was convenient to save energy, he wouldn't have accepted a decade ago for ex.

Thing is even if that is true. Trading him for much lower value without doing due process of checking market price is strange.

No one rational is going to defend Nico, lol. It was an insane trade to make and then for the return even worse.

But then Americans are ludicrously stupid, so we'll see.

This is true. But maybe he has enough awareness that it’s what he needs in order to win. I don’t know. But I do know that a lot of it is kinda blown out of proportion that he is out of shape. He’s an NBA player who plays a Tom of minutes and has the ball in his hands all the time. He is in shape.

In all honesty, I think of Luka listens to Shaq and LeBron about their time in MIA he will be told that they are a better organization than the Lakers. I mean who could the Lakers even get to help their roster? I would say he should play for Denver but I don’t trust their ownership not to be cheap.
