Yeah, even if it's just another Bassey-like character (2-way guy let go from another team), we need another body. It's roster malpractice to have your only backup C be a guy with multiple season-ending knee injuries (and isn't really that good to begin with)

Haha. Man, I hope by now over 20+ years (and several more before that at Dusty Garza's site) that I've demonstrated that I try to be as reasonable and objective as possible. I'm a Bassey stan for off-the-court reasons, but I can acknowledge his shortcomings. I think he still has a ton of potential to be a good rotational backup in the league for years to come, but it's clear to me that he doesn't fully know how to play basketball at this point. He's got an elite feel for rebounding and shot blocking, but he just looks lost out there. To his defense, he's missed a lot of his developmental years being injured. I hope we keep him as a long term 3rd/emergency/mascot big in the hopes that he takes a leap... but I can see him for what he is.

jalen hood-schifino waived by jazz. he was known to be an unfinished product, but two teams quitting on him in 1.5 years is rough

I felt like he was a favorite of some of our resident draft gurus here. Not trying to call them out, but just a reminder that the draft has variance and you can't win 'em all

Hated JHS - negative BPM (-0.4), terrible steal rate, couldn't get to the line at all, midrange volume was triple his rim volume = non-prospect to me

But on the other hand, I had Reed Sheppard #1 last year in his own tier and saw him as the second coming of Jeff Hornacek, so just goes to show that different scouting methods each have their own strengths and weaknesses

Sheppard could still become a Hornacek or other good type. JHS was always just bad.

I don't need any more... I was one of the few on this site saying that DJM was better than Simmons when half this board wanted to trade Dejounte plus picks.

I just think it would be funny.
I think he appears to have the tools but he has the worse case of the yips I've ever seen. That's me assuming his yips aren't his normal form and his better moments aren't yips.

    Decent/reasonable... considering what we need.
Both 25/26 years old, Athletic, good at defense and with a 3 point shot. They are supposedly still in their prime and were considered top ten draft picks. They both cost no big Money, probably you can have both at the minimum the minimum...at the point of their career and at this point of out goals for this season they both look tò me as loe risk High reward players...and they both seem tò be good guys...

Did anyone read where Capela is going to be bought out? I doubt he'll be available till season ends unfortunately.

After missing five straight games due to a back injury, Capela is now being listed as out for Friday due to personal reasons. The veteran big man will aim to rejoin the team on the second leg of Atlanta's back-to-back, which comes Saturday in Washington.
He'll play, but I don't see why would the Hawks buy him out. Unless he gives up a lot of money, which he has no reason to.

Yeah that's what I thought as well. It's no point at this stage of his career where he knows he might not see a big payday moving forward.

Capela was ruled out of our game for "personal reasons". If nothing has been reported on what they are I'd guess it's simply him being disgruntled, in which case I'd expect a buyout.

Or just something personal like a family issue or whatever. He doesn't seem like the disgruntled type but I could be wrong.

Could be...but he was listed as out with an injury in the previous games...then it switched to personal reasons... make of it what you will..

Pretty sure I saw him die in John Wick 3. I don't think you come back from that.
