playing cp3 with fox is soft tanking. No need to have cp3 close out games.Dudes where just taking rebounds and driving pass by
him like nothing. If he must start, dont have him close out.Simple
A lot of things went wrong but Mitch is really screwing the pooch
Running the clock down for the final shot when down 1 is coaching malpractice. And overplaying CP3 at this point. Yes we needed to rely on him this season but with Fox around it’s just unnecessary. The lack of backup big at the moment isn’t on Mitch that’s more FO

mitch keeps loosing us games , at one point in the lcutch, he had castle on franz vagner and barnes on banchero, and he wonders why they kept making shots.
Us losing was the only good thing tonight, ATL won and both POR and CHI shat the bed in the second half. We had that 9 lotto spot briefly though!
Generally what I was saying, CP3 makes sense for losing which makes sense more than winning. You seem to twist back and forth. Similarly Mitch messing up is more of a net positive. He at least had the right lineup in at the end this time, which in the bigger picture was not even the correct move. We should have had like KJ and Champ running around there at the end to improve odds of a loss, actually.
Yes, there was. The ref is a ing dumb .
Not coaching the guys up on blocking out and rebounding is soft tanking the team. I remember not so long ago Pop would subs ute a new 5 if the starters weren’t doing that . Timmy, Manu, Tony can all have a seat and think about it.
Honestly it's not pick-up ball guys I get not really wanting a guy who has had one practice with the team to be primary ball handler in crunch time. However it's also not exactly like there's other good options at the moment..
i don't buy into the tank with fox and wemby plan..
he's playing 3 pgs in the clutch and NOT running a play.. Speaks for itself.
NBA reffing is terrible to watch. You have to wonder if the league ever even looks at games to try and identify and correct all the obviously blown calls.
I mean i don’t care who it is being the primary. But you have to go for a quick shot and give yourself a chance to foul and get a second possession
They were at full strength and were getting smoked by a shorthanded Charlotte team. They had no business losing that game either way.
I just watched the game. I think I'm done with this . Poor coaching, poor decision making, not playing Castle enough, rotations. Cannot believe they threw that game away as well. I also don't recall seeing Castle on the court for the last play? Was he out there? He could have drawn a foul. Mitch has no idea what he's doing. Also, only down one, why run the ing shot clock down? Take a shot earlier so you can foul if it doesn't go.
Go for the lottery now. Just lose the rest of the games. These guys are rubbing off of Fox as he made some errors down the stretch too, but they're also putting a lot of pressure on him these first three games to make the winning plays for them. He's come through twice as far as I'm concerned (even if it didn't count in his second game).
Man, what a ing gut punch of a loss. Shouda, woulda, coulda type of season. Victor needs to rethink the weight room thing. If he comes back with only 1% body weight increase next off-season, he's going nowhere near GOAT status. If he tries for the 5% (he said he aims for between 1-5% increase each off-season), then that would better.
Look, I'm upset with the loss, so I'm probably being a bit irrational, but what is Victor's go to offense going to be? I was OK with the shot too, but he doesn't seem to have much apart from jump shots on offense. He can't seem to put the ball on the floor and drive to the RIM and draw a foul. His jump shot can't be his only offense in money time if he wants to be great. He's gotta have some variety/other go-to moves to score. This is why I like Tim and Hakeem and rate them so highly, they have many more ways they can score with the game on the line. Victor is a better shooter, but that can't be your only offense/go-to move.

How about not putting Sochan on instead of Barnes against Banchero off a timeout. Even though Magic a foul to give just in case you are worried about Sochan free throw shooting.
Vic had several possessions in a row where he was driving strong to the basket and drawing fouls on Goga Bitadze. I think that was in the third.
Unfortunately, he went back to shooting 3s a little while after that.
He can do it. He just can't seem to get rid of that instinct to let it fly everytime. Perhaps he rightly feels he's open all the time.
But I do agree he has to diversify his offensive game. He absolutely has the ability to do so. Kid just needs time to build that into his mindset/approach.
He's so young still.
Nothing but truth there from Harrison there.
I didn't watch the third quarter closely as I was up for almost 24 hours at that point and fell asleep. I woke up a bit later and watched the end of the 3rd and 4th quater. He needs some more weight IMO, but he also needs a few more go to moves. Not just jump shots all the time. You did raise a good point, though, that I just don't think about as I'm way, way shorter and it's not a consideration for me. Maybe he does feel open all the time and it's feels right/easier for him to just take the jump shot.
Paul isn't going to be happy sitting out close games.
Where is the Wemby is a center thread?
Wemby isn't playing like a center.
He doesn't like playing near the basket and rather be hanging around the three point line early in the offense primarily looking to put up a 3 point shot.
Seems like the Spurs allow Wemby to play anyway he likes.
He's playing like a center on defense, that's the only relevant thing when it comes to positions in modern basketball.
Offense doesn't need a center if it's functional.
Wemby needs a Karl Malone-esque spin to get free followed by a fadeaway. Could be baseline or at the FT line/key.
More preferably, he figures out how to get free without needing a fadeaway jumpshot and instead dunks it, but I'm not sure that'll ever really be his game at this point. Only (barely) 21 so time will tell.
Another nail biter game. I say everyone pre wemby that has been here for 3 plus years needs to go seems like nothing has been learned and zero progress has been done.
Mitch ain't out there clanking shots. Mitch ain't out there double teaming when you don't need to double team.
