Do you think Trump is beholden to obey the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States?
I think the President is bound by the rulings of the court; just as President Biden was bound by the ruling of the court in his Student Loan Forgiveness Program. If like Biden, President Trump is able to reframe his actions to be consistent with the law, such as what Biden did, I woul

    you, Elizabeth Warren.

They certainly could be. You can't claim it's impossible just because you worship the guy.
I never said it's impossible, I'm merely stating the argument it could be consistent with law and the cons ution. The Supreme Court will ultimately decide.

All you had to say was yes, you believe Trump is beholden to obey the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States.

    Just like Biden was.

So all your posturing about Andrew Jackson and Hamilton was just bull and you never should have brought them up.

I'm going to leave that up to the Superior Courts - up to and including the U. S. Supreme Court. If they find the President's actions violated the law, I'm sure there'll be screams for him impeachment. As for now, I'm guessing that idiot judge has no recourse but to sit back and watch.

I was trying to recall an old adage that would be applicable here and found these two in Google. The last being the one I was trying to think of:

Alexander Hamilton, in Federalist No. 78, described the judiciary as the "least dangerous" branch because it has "neither FORCE nor WILL, but merely judgment."

Andrew Jackson, who reportedly responded to a Supreme Court decision he opposed (Worcester v. Georgia, 1832) by allegedly saying:

"John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it!"

The sentiment has been echoed in various forms throughout history, reinforcing the idea that judicial power depends on compliance from the other branches of government. The only recourse the judge has is to wait until the matter is escalated through superior courts.
irl Andrew Jackson later regretted his example, he threatened to invade South Carolina over nullification

that's not the way the law works.

if the judicial order was faulty, US appeals courts are open, accessible and normally functioning.
I think Yoni glossed over this

I believe the appeals are, or are being, filed. Why stop a train because a single Lefty judge says so.

Because that's how the judicial system works.

Yoni is at once trying to brandish and ignore:

The Impoundment Control Act of 1974

    The Fourteenth Amendment

    Marbury v. Madison

The Cons ution of the United States of America

    English common law

    The English language

Either these things mean something or they don't.

It did when you wanted it to, didn't it?

    What changed?

You're not terribly principled, are you?

You were raging on about the Impoundment Control Act until you realized Trump is not following that law at all.

But you're satisfied because you're happy.

I imagine you have no comment on the Eric Adams debacle either.

    Must be satisfying.

just spitballing, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Trump is using his newly-discovered privilege to nullify appropiated funds and withhold federal transfer payments to coerce ins utions and US states to back him and his policies -- if they don't, they don't get the goodies.

if it persists, this is an authoritarian putsch, a total and sinister overthrow of the US cons utional order

Now, why on earth would you suspect a convicted felon convicted of fraud and rape...a liar with over 50,000 do ented lies in the past few years...
among his other attributes - to continue committing crimes after never being held accountable for his felonious fraud?

    Just cant understand why...

You can bet the executive government of NYC is going to be more agreeable to the Trump administrations wishes for the time being.

And, there you have it. President Trump says he'll abide by court orders but, appeal the decisions.

Trump: "I always abide by the courts, but then I'll have to appeal it."

True. If he abided by the courts, he would've done so a week ago.

This is something more than throat clearing, the illegal firings are gonna be a hassle for Trumplandia

Totally unforced error here, all Trumplandia had to do was go at a walking pace, install sympathetic agency heads, and provide two weeks notice for any changes. But no, they had to move fast and break things...

even if Trumplandia tries to walk this all the way back, the threat has already been demonstrated: Trump can nullify appropriations and turn off the money spigot to the states.
