He long since turned into Christian Plastic after a series of knee injuries and surgeries.
Used to be a Spurs killer when he was with the Rockets. Lakers waived him but supposedly he’s due to return to action soon. Wouldn’t be the worst backup center signing the Spurs could come up with. Better than Biyombo.

Is Dejuan Blair still with the Austin Spurs?
All indications are that no one has ever liked this guy despite his talent
Sometimes, success in life with whatever gifts you’ve been given comes down to “don’t be a ”, and people fail at even that.
Dump Sochan and Keldon, sign this guy.
This dude is trash and doesn't play defense. We don't need another defensive sieve on the roster especially at the C position
If Bassey is, as expected, back just after the ASG, Spurs might just not sign an additional big after Biyombo's 10 days contract.
Guys, we’re soft tanking.
I don't remember why... but seems like this guy was on a list of "Never Spurs" for some reason or another.
The only "big name" I'd be really interested in if he hits the buyout market would be another former Rocket who always killed us back then, Clint Capela. He's definitely past his prime, but still grades fairly well as a rebounder and rim protector, which is all I'm really looking for from a bench C. Essentially he does everything Bassey is good at, but knows how to play basketball.
If he gets bought out though (which I'm not sure why ATL would even do this, but I've heard this rumored) I'm sure he's headed straight to the Lakers or something
One of the worst defenders I've ever seen. He's basically Zollins minus the effort, which says a lot.
Dude's been in the league for 8 seasons and played for 8 different teams.![]()
Suggesting Christian wood is a classic spurstalk case of somebody else’s will taste better than my dinner.
christian wood has become the ed wood of basketball.
Empty calories and now empty knee sockets.
Hard no. Spurs don't need to add players they need to figure out which of their players have any future with the team moving forward. That include's Bassey. If Bassey can't be a contributor in the next couple of months of this season then sadly I see no reason to keep him around any longer.
Tbh he could probably do what Zollins was doing.
