also, SDNY was preparing a superseding obstruction charge
here's the Sassoon letter to AG Bondi
no wonder Bove flipped his

also, SDNY was preparing a superseding obstruction charge
IIRC, Sassoon was just a placeholder for the eventual Trump nominee, the two DOJ public integrity unit guys were acting as well
All three attorneys who resigned had recently been tapped as "acting" by Trump's team
(Sassoon is a FedSoc member and a former Scalia intern)
Emil Bove did the Stringer Bell bit
Hilarious that one of his first priorities was driving a crooked deal with a corrupt public official, but I guess that's just the headspace of Trump 2.0.

the dismissal had nothing to do with the merits, this could be tricky territory for Bove
Bondi might be better off just firing him before it all gets aired out
three more have resigned from the DOJ Public Integrity Section
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/jus...ges-rcna192030Federal prosecutors in New York and Washington resign after refusing to drop Adams charges
At least six prosecutors, including the acting U.S. attorney in Manhattan, have stepped down over the DOJ order to dismiss corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
Buh, bye.
it'll be interesting to see how this one hashes out
my guess is Trumplandia will double and triple down on dumb because that's what y'all do.
We made President again, by God.
You all thought you were well shut of him. That'd you'd put him down like a rabid dog. Like Old Yeller.
Uh, uh.
God got holt of his hand in PA., and ain't turned loose of it since.
God did that.
God
God made all those Republican lawyers just appointed by Trump, quit Trump?
Not sure I follow you

ST Trump s really cherry picking their discussions these days.
maybe Scalia is too far to the left now
he belongs to the previous woke US regime
I can't believe it how there's such a thing as kryptonite on an anonymous board
why not bloviate and deflect like all the other threads?
tl;dr
SDNY has all the texts and emails with agents of Turkey, and much more. The case against Adams is not a close case. They caught this crooked democrat with his hand in the cookie jar. $10 million in illicit matching funds IIRC, that's just one count.
Don't take my word, read through the thread

Bove's argument is essentially that -- saying nothing of the merits or theories of the case -- the political priorities of the new president trump the interests of justice
and a friendly mayor of NYC must be maintained in place, corrupt though he be, to contribute the president's sacred effort to deport ugly, dangerous foreigners from the USA...
there are drawbacks to flexible morality and political expedience
you lose excellent, principled people
another way to put it
there is no non-corrupt reason for dismissing Eric Adams’ case. The Trump DOJ is itself obstructing both justice and the rule of law.
the Trump case is that politics deserve to win
