We are waiving the White Flagg?
With Wemby out for the season, Fox can have his surgery as early as this month and perhaps CP3 will request a buyout soon to have a chance to play with a contender?
Anyway, it's your time to shine Tank Commandos and we need your service again.
#GetThatFlagg
Seriously though, hope nothing serious on Wemby esp. long-term.
I rather have Wemby being safe from that blood clot for the rest of his career/life than to have Flagg.
It's still a nice season. See you again in the draft lottery.![]()
We are waiving the White Flagg?
CP3 and Fox have some decision to make
I'm fine with tanking the rest of the season given the cir stances, but we are probably out of the Flagg sweepstakes. No way we are going to out-tank the likes of Washington, New Orleans, Charlotte, or Utah who are well ahead of us in the loss column.
We may be able to get like a 2% chance on it but obviously not holding out hope. That said, winning games this season is basically pointless now.
i think 7-8 position are realistic outlooks. those come with 7.5% and 6% chances at #1 overall, respectively.
last year the hawks won the lottery out of the 10th position with a 3% chance (all that luck for risacher as the prize)

Maybe can bump it up to like 6-9% but still.
Right now we are the 10th seed so 3% according to that chart...but there are a lot of teams behind us who don't seem to be doing a lot of winning either
You know... I was just thinking that maybe it's time to give Point Sochan another try...
Is it possible to trade picks before the lottery? Let's say we hit the Wizards and offer our pick and the Hawks one, for theirs. Is that possible? Is it worth it? Would the Wizards consider such trade?
No chance the Wiz would take that offer, so the point is moot.
Don't having two lottery picks give you more chance of getting the #1 than the worst record?
I don't think the Wizards would do this, but yes I believe this is allowed. We are allowed to make trades as soon as our season is over.
Depends on where the picks are. Trading the 5th and 6th pre-lotto seed gives you better odds than the #1 lotto seed, but the #10 and #12 seed, for example, does not.
If the Spurs tank hard, I think they could get to the 5th worst record. The Hawks' one would be around 10th worst. Does that give us a better % than 14%?
You can look at the odds chart here and just add the two: https://tankathon.com/pick_odds
Note, you can only do this with one pick, not with multiple picks (so, for example, you can add up the 10.5% chance at #1 for the 5 seed and the 3.0% chance for the 10 seed and that is accurate. But you can combine the percent at a Top 4 for the #5 seed and add them to the percent for any Top 4 for the #10 seed... there are math reasons for this that I won't get into now... but long story short, the odds for landing in a pick range are a little lower that just adding them up
But to answer your question... 5+10 would be slightly worse odds than the 1-3 seeds.
Spurs are at a 3% chance of getting Flagg right now at the 10 seed in the lottery. They can probably move up 3 more slots and up that to 7.5%, maybe even 4 slots to get to 9%. The odds are still quite flat, as the worst record only gets you to 14%.
Imagine a game-winning buzzer-beater from zollins somewhere during the remainder of the season, pushing the Spurs into a better draft slot over the Bulls.
We must get the two best picks that we can have
May the Fates favor us
Flagg and Khaman
Flagg and Asa Newell
realistically we are going to finish with the 6th to 9th worst record with very little chance for number 1 pick. Hopefully we get a top4
We may not win 8 more games. It’s just a ghastly awful team without Wemby. I remember two years ago, vividly. 8 wins would have put us in the #8 slot last year, so that’s a decent approximation.
I’m not locked into winning the lottery. #1 would be nice, but anything in the top 4 would be a massive help, and those odds, just with our pick, would be 26.2% out of a prospective #8 slot finish.
That’s all I care about. Any player in the top 4 would be a massive help.
Agreed. I'm not putting any hope into getting Flagg, but this season should now be considered a wash. Team should be playing for lottery balls
I don't do as much scouting as people here as I'm not as familiar with college ball but looking at videos of the top4 prospects, it seems that we won't go wrong if we land any of them. Of course, Flag solves the issue at the PF position with rebounding and defense. We could slide Barnes back to the SF position to have 3-point shooting and trade Vassel/Johnson for another guard/SF combo who can shoot and rebound
