Here's last week's recruiting recap across Texas.
https://docs.google.com/do ent/d/1...M/edit?tab=t.0
EJ Barthel from Nebraska was a name being discussed for Texas' open RB position.
He has signed an extension.

DE offer Jake Kreul of IMG Academy mentioned recently hired Coach Clark from Ohio State as one of his better relationships, per 247.
He won't be scheduling any official visits for a while, but said he wants to hit double digit schools this spring and go from there.

There were talks that this kid was going to get offered a few weeks ago, but it didn't happen at the time for whatever reason.
Good offer imo, he's a dude.

At first the last paragraph had me worried a bit.
Then I found the Davis opinion given on the firing of Chris Beard in the Texas Tribune.
“It is a mistake to view a manager’s support for an employee as a statement of belief in criminal guilt or innocence,” Davis wrote. “It is his actual behavior that we consider, not whether some acts also cons ute a crime. Whether or not the District Attorney ultimately charges Mr. Beard is not determinative of whether he engaged in conduct unbecoming a head coach at our university.”
So I am a bit more hopeful that Davis is not as tainted as who he worked for.
Sorry for the politics but this is a political matter to a large extent.
hope this does not affect what has been superior recruiting by the UT staff.
Why would it? It's a glorified scrimmage against yourself. This is a bigger impact on fans who may have wanted a sneak peek at next year's team. Texas won't be the only team to do away with it in some form. Shouldn't affect recruiting one bit.
Believe it or not, the recruits like to come.
Its another chance to see the kids in Austin.
And the game was more than a glorified scrimmage for other teams trying to "steal" based on performance.
You know what I find out during the glorified scrimmage. Not only that Arch is more than his last name, but that Wingo is an absolute stud. Some things are hard to hide.
So yeah it was interesting. You cant hide great athletes. And of course we wont be the only team.
I'm anxious to hear if they'll fill the weekend with something else and still try to get recruits on campus.
I know that many will likely opt to go to an actual spring game somewhere else, but maybe they'll attempt a BBQ or something similar.
