if you're mailing in your ballot, consider putting it in a drop box rather than taking a chance on the USPS to get it there on time

I wouldn't trust anything important with the USPS. It's time has passed and it should be folded.

The USPS was created by Congress at the direct suggestion of the US Cons ution

    Article I Section 8 clause 7

I don't think Trump can abolish it or reassign it within the executive branch by decree -- pass a ing law, guys

You do know there are other carriers available, right? Besides, I wouldn't trust my life-saving medication with the USPS; I'd pay extra to make sure it got to me.

Prices are higher, with other carriers, because they can't compete with the government subsidized monopoly that is the USPS. If it were gone, they would be in free market compe ion with one another. Prices would come down.

Other carriers will bring your mail to your door. The USPS leaves it in community boxes or at a mailbox at the end of a long rural driveway. And, when the community boxes are broken, as they often are (like mine is now), you have to go to the post office to get your junk mail.

All my important stuff is brought by carriers other than the USPS. All I get in my mailbox anymore is junk and stuff from the federal government.

The few places I know of, in the Austin area, where the postal carrier brings your mail to the door are in affluent sections of Austin. Nope, no having to schlep to the Community Box for the well-heeled.
