I genuinely don’t get why they keep doing such deeply unpopular things so quickly.
Like I get that they’re all dumb and incompetent but like???trump won a republican elite consensus in his favor by promising relatively small cabals of insane cranks total leeway to do whatever the they wanted with the US government and won the popular vote by promising political moderation to the publictrump doesn't care about this because his primary objective is to avoid prison and wreak revenge on the american government and international system. his subordinates don't care about the national interest, either. they just want to stomp on anthills and build their castles in the air out of corpses
That's wonderful news
Let us proceed...
Trump is doing a better job than I thought he would. It's wonderful to see.

Trump is pulling out and focusing on domestic like a smart man.
...Bingo!
Oh you mean he's focusing on domestic like cutting cancer research and farm assistance? You guys are idiots
unfortunately for us, he's wrecking the USA as well
How so?
you would think a russian asset’s first priority would be destroying the usa…
and you would be correct…
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent revealed that Mexico has proposed matching U.S. tariffs on China and urged Canada to do the same, signaling a potential North American economic fortress against Beijing’s cheap exports.
“I think it would be a nice gesture if the Canadians did it also, so in a way we could have ‘Fortress North America’ from the flood of Chinese imports,” Bessent said in an interview with Bloomberg Television.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum’s administration has been actively negotiating with the Trump administration to raise tariffs on Chinese goods and shift more of its trade toward the U.S. Mexico is particularly focused on Chinese-built cars and auto parts, which have flooded its market in recent years.
is it just because you're closer to death that you want everything to die with you?
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/us-co...134708582.htmlUS consumer spending posts first drop in almost two years
U.S. consumer spending fell for the first time in nearly two years in January and the goods trade deficit widened to a record high as businesses front-loaded imports to avoid tariffs, setting up the economy for weak growth or even a contraction this quarter.
While the data from the Commerce Department on Friday also showed a moderation in annual inflation last month, prices showed some stickiness, with fairly solid monthly gains. In addition, President Donald Trump's administration is ratcheting up tariffs, which economists said would raise prices as businesses pass on the higher costs of imported goods to consumers.
Consumers' inflation expectations soared in February. The Atlanta Federal Reserve slashed its gross domestic product estimate for the first quarter to show the economy contracting at a 1.5% annualized rate from a 2.3% growth pace earlier.
Financial markets now expect the Federal Reserve to resume cutting interest rates in June following a pause in January to give policymakers time to assess the economic impact of the administration's policies.

A separate report from the Commerce Department's Census Bureau showed the goods trade deficit jumped 25.6% to $153.3 billion last month, an all-time high as imports vaulted 11.9%.
Exports increased 2.0%. Though the surge in imports was likely precautionary, it nonetheless added to the stream of negative data for the January-March quarter. The economy grew at a 2.3% rate in the fourth quarter, driven by consumer spending.

The Fed tracks the PCE price measures for its 2% inflation target. The U.S. central bank paused rate cuts in January, leaving its benchmark overnight interest rate in the 4.25%-4.50% range, having reduced it by 100 basis points since September, when it started its easing cycle.
Minutes of the U.S. central bank's January 28-29 policy meeting published last week showed officials were worried about higher inflation from Trump's initial policy proposals. The policy rate was hiked by 5.25 percentage points in 2022 and 2023 to quell inflation.
"Tariffs are the most obvious threat to the pricing environment and the last few tenths to the Fed's 2% target remain in the crosshairs," said Shannon Grein, an economist at Wells Fargo.
