Fox needs guys who can run with him. He is fast and it’s not being utilized. The only guys who can keep up with him is Castle and Wemby.

Forward/big wing is a glaring hole on this roster. Along with a backup big.

Vassell/Johnson/Sochan still look clueless out there. Which is crazy.

The most frustrating part of watching the Spurs for me right now is seeing good ball movement resulting in an open, in rhythm 3 point shot and it just clanks. As usual, the Spurs hit a couple in garbo time to make the percentages look better than they functionally were.

Vassell is an incredibly poor and slow decision maker. The ball often dies when it hits his hands

I don’t see Fox being that big of a difference maker for this team paying him a new max contract is going to bite us on the ass going forward.

Tank is on but sadly it might not have any more impact on the lottery odds. Other teams are tanking as well.

Spurs are pretty much settled at 8-9 depending on whatever Bulls do

The full Devin Vassell Experience is when he gets the ball at the 3 point line angle right, looks up, sees a cutter go by, fails to hit cutter, decides to dribble, fumbles the first dribble a little bit but still keeps it, decides to clear out and reset to logo near half court to get a running start, doesn't get by defender, ends up taking a contested fade from 19' drifting right. Clank.

Expect to be disappointed this off season lol

I'm more interested to see where the Sochan extension comes in. I admit I am not a Sochan believer but he does occasionally have games where I can see the the theory of what people say he can become. I hope the Spurs pay him like a 7th man but I am expecting an overpay.

Or the option off this where he does all that, except when he doesn’t get by his defender he passes out to someone 26 feet away from the basket with 2 left on the shot clock

Sochan is pretty great on the high energy break, running and finishing or finding another player to finish.

He’s going to be a HUGE difference maker. We haven’t had a guard of this caliber since 2011-2015 Parker. With Wemby out, there is just spacing right now. There’s also no real roll threat. He’s injured, and being forced to carry the entire offense.

He’s more than likely getting a 4-year 30% max, and despite a slow start in San Antonio (and no, he has not been trash in 70% of his games here, lol) he largely deserves it. I think there is a small chance he signs a 27-28% deal, but it’s probably going to be the max and we just need to comes to grips with it. He’s a max player in the modern NBA.
Signing him to a max is a no-brainer. Spurs would be fkn re ed not to, even if it doesn't work out. Fox is clearly a max player

Sochan is serviceable as an nba player with tantalizing upside that probably won't happen. In that way he's like boris

Fox is a horrible fit with this current team. Too many players in the rotation can't run a fast break which Fox and he can't hit 3 point perimeter shots in a half court set offense at a high rate.
There needs to be a roster turnover adding about 4 new rotation players next year.

Spurs need to add more athletic players at SG, SF and PF who can run with Fox and Castle.

Also need to add shooters who can knock down perimeter shots. NBA today is all about the 3 point shot. Spurs often go ice cold and games get out of hand because they can't keep up with other teams knocking down 3 point shots.

CP3, Vassell, Champ, Sochan, Johnson, rotation players who can't score effectively on a fast break. All these guys except for Paul are just as likely to turn the ball over when running a break.
Spurs get a turnover and they don't get an easy score off it because the team lacks athleticism to move the ball down court quickly for a score.

Sochan stops and passes the ball backwards if he's in position to push the ball down court and finish at the rim on a break. Sochan also has no mid range jump shot.
He does his scoring off passes under the basket and an occasional short move to the basket. He doesn't even score much off offensive rebounds as he doesn't seem to be in good position for offensive rebounds sometimes even standing on the 3 point line on offense. He's a very limited offensive player.

Spurs aren't tanking yet if they even will tank. They are poorly constructed as a team and the lose of Wemby is huge. Spurs still good enough to beat the tanking weak teams in the league.

This was my gripe with acquiring Fox before he came over, though I'd still do the trade we did 100/100 times. He's not a dead-eye shooter enough to relieve the constant paint-packing we see night in and out.

He's a guy who's going to feast in the open court with running mates. Unfortunately, our coaches haven't been able to teach any of these guys in multiple years how to run a decent fast break or do simple things like box out.

Also, he's not tall and playing him as a SG is allowing other teams to use their size to bully him into more difficult jumpers/shots and force him out of the lane. He would be way better utilized as a PG with every other Spurs player around him taller. How would Tony Parker have been playing SG all the time??

Overall, this roster is atrociously built. It's a wild hodge-podge of players and for its hugely lacking size, it can't shoot for .

Fox mentioned that another player wanted Mike Brown fired, but wouldn’t name names. I think we have suspect #1 right here.
