I was going to watch this video, is it worth watching, or is it a load of crap/waste of time?

One made 100s of millions of dollars, dated/married Hollywood stars and hot models, won 4 championships, a FMVP, and made all nba teams and multiple all star selections, and has his jersey retired and in the HOF.

The other is Stephen Jackson. I guarantee you there’s no beef from Parker’s end at all. He probably hasn’t even thought of Jackson once in the past 5 years

It seems that he still gives TD props every now and then, which makes me wonder if that story is true about SJax sleeping with Tim's ex-wife (I don't remember if Tim and her were broken up at the time as I only heard that story here at Spurstalk a few years later), and/or if he was kicked off of the team because of it and not the story we were told about him not admitting certain players on the team where better than him. I wouldn't have thought he'd saying anything at all about TD or Pop if that is why he was kicked off the team.

Might be going against the grain, but I enjoyed it. Didn’t take sides but it did some fact checking that SJax probably wouldn’t be a fan of.

He really is. In that 2002-2003 season, they used to give players like a little quiz on camera. He got so many wrong answers he quit playing.

You needed a 700 SAT to get a scholarship in the NCAA, so that's probably it. It's a super low bar, as scoring 700 would put you below about 95% of people who take the SAT.

It was well established here during those days that Tony froze out other players.

Which days out of curiousity? TP's first few seasons which are mentioned prominently in the vid he was on such a short leash from Pop that I can imagine him getting away with that. Later on I won't speak much on, he did call his own number more but him being that aggressive seemed by design as Tim wasn't the offensive force he had been before.

I doubt Jack just invented a narrative for Tony then coincidentally he became that way later. He was that way then too. Tony's magical days happened to be the team capitalizing on Tony's insane speed and scoring ability, but there are plenty instances of Tony freezing out new players to call his own number. Tony was the only player of the big 3 who couldn't pass the torch, he tried to shoot it.

Ehh Jack is an entertainer these days so I don't take what he says as gospel, I do agree that Tony was the most "out for himself" of the big 3. That being said, Jacks 3-ish seasons with the Spurs were not good in hindsight (02-03 was nice because he was unexpectedly better than we thought, still a chucker though). We've learned a lot about efficiency/advanced stats since Jacks prime and what they show is the dude just wasn't the player he thought he was at virtually any point in his career. A lot of those 20 ppg scorers from the 2000's look different when viewed from that lens.

Curious of examples of Tony freezing guys out? The video mentioned Tony not mentoring Dejounte which is laughable that DJM actually said that...Tony didn't owe DJM , he was still coming to terms with the fact that his days as an effective NBA player were done the moment he ruptured his quad.

Jack burns bridges everywhere he goes. I don’t take his overrated scrub ass seriously. Lol only one championship ring. We certainly didn’t need him either after we waived him in 2013.

Tony himself has said that Pop drew a line on piece of paper, putting Stockton on one end, and maybe Iverson on the other end, put a hash mark in the middle, and told Tony that’s where he wanted him. Tony played the way Pop wanted him to, the way Pop told him to.

I always find it sad that Jackson had such negative things to say about the spurs. The spurs were the team that allowed him to stick in the league, he won his first le here, and it launched him into s om. The spurs got him back again after he wore off his welcome everywhere else and gave him one final chance (he played a few games with the clippers afterwards but his career was essentially over).

If it wasn’t for the spurs he likely wouldn’t have a career resembling what he had but despite all this he had nothing but negative things to say about the spurs, despite him being proven wrong so many times.

Either he really felt that, which is sad as he is being ungrateful for the organization that launched his career, or he did it to get clicks, which is even worse as he backstabs the organization for a few bucks.

Tony is an easy target, he’s had his list of enemies while Tim and manu just have zero dirt. Brent barry hates him and with good reason, he shoots too much for a point guard, his comments about Kawhi (which is 100% true and it’s laughable how that is a factor in “driving” nephew away when nephew leaving Toronto essentially proved that he wouldn’t left for LA no matter what), his comments about guarding Danny green, and likely a bunch of bone headed comments he’s had. But he has helped the spurs plenty after his retirement, had no bad things to about the organization after his departure to Charlotte, for all the supposed spotlight loving traits he’s had, Tony has been private, low key and largely stayed out of the spotlight since his retirement.

Why would he? It would be like yelling out the window of your mansion at a little yappy dog in your neighbor’s yard. Tony is a hall of famer and a businessman. Jack is an internet NBA gossip columnist. It’s just not worth Tony’s time or effort.

Horry was huge in that Detroit series. Nothing but love for that man. Saying Dream is better than Duncan is just his opinion after playing with both.

SJ was real ghetto (remember his little firearm incident) & Tony (& Timmy) weren’t. SJ was dumber than a box of rocks & Tony wasn’t, even though he didn’t have a college education. Tony is French which made him very blunt & pretty much impervious to SJ craving attention.
