Good to see Castle bouncing back from awful first half.
Continue to think Tobias Harris would be a nice fit on our team. Guess we're stuck with Devin at the 3 instead.
Good to see Castle bouncing back from awful first half.
Castle starting to heat up this quarter
Castle trying to stop the Ike Turner beatdown
Well FanDuel just lost the feed. Only audio on the broadcast now lol
It’s probably for the best.
You can watch it on The.streameast.app
I cancelled the last month of the season on fanduel, maybe there's a couple of local channel broadcasts
good lord, that was hard to watch.. missing wide open triples happens, but the point blank range missed layups were hard to justify.. especially when barnes had a few to just lay in and started to pass to the open man on the three instead.. Please don't stop playing the sochan pick and roll, yes i know it looks dreadful, but you need it regardless.
Evan thought our defense was fine when giving up 56% from the field and 48% from 3
All hope is lost of these dudes really think that![]()
Main Character Dev had 26 points and put up 21 shots tonight. , he probably thinks we won.
"ok defense" my ass. Zero rim protection this game and a ton of silly and-1s given up.
I can't believe I watched this whole game.
Dang, 3 pages! Spurstalk moving on up in the world!
I think Devin probably feels like he tried hard...The problem is, he sucks at defense so effort only goes so far.
Yeah I can’t believe people are actually surprised that Evan Assell thinks the defense was ok. Does anyone think Evan knows what good defense looks like? His idea of good defense is just staying within 5 feet of your man regardless of whether you contest the shot, and then acting disappointed when the open shot goes in, and then sprinting back up court calling for the ball to get a shot up. Evan thinks this is ok, and his play shows it.
That was rough. But an L isn’t all that bad
Yeah, I think we need to keep our eye on the ball. Improving draft position involves losing. Watching sausage being made is never pretty.
On the one hand this is true, the more we tank the more likely we are to get a good player in the draft, on the other hand, it's pretty mind blowing that we are still in the tank phase of a rebuild that started when...Derrick and Dejounte got traded? That was so long ago Dejounte isn't on the team he was traded to and Derrick has a whole other contract now. This front office hasn't signed an impact veteran I think ever (Rudy and Pau were signed when RC was the GM). Chris Paul is completely washed and Barnes is a JAG. Neither have impacted much of anything this year, especially after Wemby has been out.
We did get Fox though. Not sure how much credit the front office gets for that, since Fox is only here cause of Wemby, who is only here cause of luck. If the Rockets had drafted Wemby I think Fox would be in Houston right now.
There is only so many times adding 19 to 22 year olds who have never played in the nba to your team should actually improve your team. I think the Spurs are hitting the limit right now.
If Fox and Wemby weren’t sidelined, I think with all of the drama in Dallas and Phoenix, we had a real shot at the play in. Gotta make the lemonade, at this point, though. Even LeBron didn’t make the playoffs his first two years.
I'm absolutely certain the Spurs would have made a huge run for the play-in if Victor and Fox were both playing. I didn't know if they'd make it, but I thought they'd come close. That was before Dallas and Phoenix started faltering as I didn't expect that stuff to happen.
I think we're sitting comfortably in the 9th seed, probably even within striking distance of MIN and LAC for a 7/8 seed (maybe like 3 games back) if not for the Wemby injury (in which case Fox would not have been shut down)
Yeah, I agree 100%. I certainly didn't expect Dallas to completely falter at the time Victor went out and I also didn't expect Phoenix to be this poor either (I thought the Spurs would have to make a furious run to make it when I looked at their closing schedule). Fox definitely would have still been playing for the push IMO. Maybe the Spurs still would have shut down Fox and tried to tank if Victor was still struggling with his health and playing like he was just before the diagnosis (if he didn't have the blood clot), but I doubt it if Victor hadn't gone out.
I could be wrong, and maybe they would have started resting Victor for back to backs/giving him games off too if he was still struggling with the breathing/fatigue. I still would like to know what was going on there as I could tell he was trying to push through it (again, definitely not laziness like some people said), but his body just wasn't responding and he couldn't play the way he wanted to. I still wonder if that was from the cedar and if it would have come back to normal (his breathing and fatigue) in time if not for the blood clot. I just want him to be OK going forward.

Well that's a problem, because if you have 2 all nba caliber players in Fox and Wemby and you have to have to other teams completely implode just for you to get to the games that might get you to the playoffs, you still got a LONG way to go.
Next season should be a make or break year for this front office and this coaching staff, assuming Victor and Fox start the season healthy. Anything less than a playoff birth should be getting virtually everybody wearing a suit and holding a clipboard or sheet of paper on the sidelines or in an office fired.
