Trump/Biden's policy of maximum pressure failed, now Iran is on the brink of nuclear arms capacity

A significant force of B-2 Spirit stealth bombers looks to be currently wending its way to the Indian Ocean island of Diego Garcia. Satellite imagery shows at least three C-17 cargo planes and 10 aerial refueling tankers forward-deployed in the last 48 hours to the highly strategic British territory, which has been used as a staging point for U.S. strikes in the Middle East on multiple occasions in the past. The build-up comes amid a new surge in U.S. strikes targeting the Houthis and growing warnings to Iran from the Trump administration over support for the Yemeni militants and Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.
Major movements of C-17s and tankers to the Indian Ocean island, as well as to Hickam in Hawaii and Andersen Air Force Base in Guam, look to have started last week, according to online flight tracking data and information from the international Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS).

Just keep bombing the Hoolies to free sea commerce and leave Iran to themselves.

Seems the US attack was preemptive, the Houthis held fire while the Gaza ceasefire held, right?

one thing that amazes me about this forum

is the backflipping that occurs whenever you ask someone to clarify their own comments

u always get blamed for asking, when it would be easier and simpler just to be honest and say what you mean

    Great movie
Also free on youtube. You remember the ending when Hilda says let's get in our paper bags? It's because she is remembering this video that was to be the last thing played in the UK during nuclear war (these videos would be played nonstop on BBC which I think is the only TV that would be allowed to be broadcast any more in the lead up). You can see/hear these videos, including this specific one, in the background a few times in Threads also.

Still, Threads is the best movie ever made on nuclear war since they did way more research than anyone else (Carl Sagan was one of the consultants for scientific accuracy). They were actually gonna scrap the film when they heard ABC was developing The Day After, but once that aired the producer and director of Threads knew ABC made a Disneyesque fantasy depiction of nuclear war and they had to show what it would really look like. Plus I love that Threads shows the war strictly from the pov of the people. Makes it one of my top 2 war movies ever made (with Grave of the Fireflies the other).
