thanks. weird that the spurs haven't mentioned the surgery at all.
I am not sure, but it's likely due to the surgery he had recently (I think he had the surgery 2-3 weeks ago, so that was around the time he stopped coming to the games). I was wondering if he's going to be at the last home game of the season.
thanks. weird that the spurs haven't mentioned the surgery at all.
It's not even close imo
I laughed at LBJ's "Giannis would score 250pts...", Giannis dominates bc of the ridiculous spacing of today's game and the fact that you don't have to go through Bigs to win. He would struggle in any other eras bc his mid range isn't reliable and his post game isn't very rich/diverse in moves.
Most of today's players have really poor post game, guys like David or Hakeem would be unfair today with their size, strength and mobility.
And they of course would be decent 3pts shooters if they played today, bc they were already very good mid range and FT shooters with a elite work ethic.
Good to see Victor there at the game, and he's looking good (Hakeem too). I hope they chat it up and would be cool if he were to work with him at some point. I'm sure he can learn a lot from Hakeem.
Do you think Hakeem is telling Wemby "let me tell you about some of the things I did in this building to your friend David..."
Wemby working on his post moves with Hakeem in the offseason would be just what the doctor ordered
He's got a better option in his own backyard, who'll probably cost $50,000 less.
Either can't hurt, but can only help so much considering he lacks the body type of either and is more Robinson, Garnett, Davis than them.
He doesn't have the body to back people down, and also, he doesn't need to be slowing it down dribbling the ball letting the defense collapse in on him. He can just face up instead. And as people here at ST have mentioned, he could look at adding some simple shots like a hook shot to get some easier buckets. Maybe work on a bank shot in face up situations too.
He's also already got great footwork already, so it's up to him if he wants to learn from Hakeem if he thinks it will help him. He could probably learn some stuff about defense, positioning and timing on that end (Gilbert Arenas crew mentioned this and I thought that's an aspect worth looking at more than offense if he were to work with Hakeem). Might be worth it just to talk to him about his perspective on the defensive end. Victor can still learn some things on defense/get tips on that end of the court to take to take it to yet another level.
So nice to see Wemby in such high spirits. There’s no indication that he won’t be back in full self next season. That means the FO will be very busy this off-season. There will be no stones left unturned. I can’t wait!

No more family values and zero media exposure, Wemby can generate so much money which can be used to for example pay the luxury tax and he'll obviously be the player everyone will want to team up with.
If we only had a good design department. Our merch and City Edition jerseys are horrendous
Good take and I agree. Big compe ive teams are going to come hard for Wemby when his Rookie contract is up and the spurs are the ones on the clock to prove why he should stay with this franchise and that window is getting smaller.
I'm just glad there is no "ifs" and "buts" and "we'll see" in their messaging. Mitch Johnson was categorical yesterday when he replied that Wemby will be ready by the start of training camp. Spurs would never frame it in such way if they didn't have a complete grasp on the situation--- that it is a one-off case similar to Brandon Ingram's who returned few months later to play at a high level and never had a recurrence 6 years after his first diagnosis..
Some of the things Victor and Fox said leads me to believe they think most of the players on this team will be back next year![]()
Things change bro. Look at us going all goofball on last year's draft trade of 8 and it ends up being integral in getting Fox later.
Things change.
Only thing I've ever clung to is every day brings something new, maybe something unexpected.
That Minny pick wasn't "intergral" to the fox trade. Fox and Rich Paul forced their way out of Sac and to the Spurs. You could subs ute that Minny pick for 3 half eaten churros and that deal still get's done because what choice did the Kings have?
Why did you misspell integral and put it in quotations?
^^^ where the heck is this court?
Wemby should cultivate a hook shot.....
