The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 45% of Likely U.S. Voters say that, in general, considering the way things are going with Trump as president, their feeling is, “Yes, this is what I voted for.” Fifty-one percent (51%) feel more like, “No, this is not what I voted for.” (To see survey question wording, click here.)

By any reasonable measure, President Donald Trump’s first 100 days will be judged an epic failure.
He has been a legislative failure. He has signed only five bills into law, none of them major, making this the worst performance at the start of a new president’s term in more than a century.
He has been an economic failure. On his watch, growth has slowed, consumer and business confidence has cratered, and markets have plunged, along with Americans’ wealth. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said Wednesday that “growth has slowed in the first quarter of this year from last year’s solid pace” and that Trump’s tariffs will result in higher inflation and slower growth.
He has been a foreign-policy failure. He said he would end wars in Gaza and Ukraine. But fighting has resumed in Gaza after the demise of the ceasefire negotiated by his predecessor, and Russia continues to brutalize Ukraine, making a mockery of Trump’s naive overtures to Vladimir Putin.

New polling carried out by Gallup from April 1 to 14 showed that confidence in Democratic congressional leadership has hit an all-time low since the organization has surveyed voters on the issue going back to 2001.
Just 25 percent of respondents expressed confidence in Democratic congressional leadership, down 9 points from the previous historic low of 34 percent set in 2023. The confidence level is also significantly below Democrats' historic average, which has been about 45 percent since 2001.
Meanwhile, confidence in congressional Republican leadership is on the upswing and is double digits ahead of Democrats.
Thirty-nine percent of respondents said they are confident in GOP leadership, up slightly from 36 percent last year. That level is also 14 points higher than current confidence in Democrats.
