I hope he wins the le this year. He's the best player in the playoffs.

I think he's on a collision course with Giannis and the Bucks.

But I'm rooting for Kawhi Leonard.

Once a San Antonio Spur, always a San Antonio Spur.

He helped bring us a le shutting down LeBron.

Least we can do is support him now.

Always Go Spurs Go, but for these playoffs, it's Go Clippers!

My dirty little secret is that Kawhi has been my favourite player in the NBA since Duncan retired. And the Raptors became my second team when he was traded there, and same with the Clippers.

Yes Kawhi acted like a POS in 2017-2018 being enabled by Uncle Dennis, but there’s no 2014 championship and deep playoff runs between 2012-2017 without Kawhi.

No shame in still liking Kawhi.

At the end of the day, the man just wanted to be closer to his family and no one can fault him for that.

He could have been up front about, but wasn’t, and used bull tactics to force his way out. Normally, when a player leaves, there are a couple of years of boos that decrease over time. It’s coming up on 7 years, and the boos are loud and continuous because of the bull way it was handled. F Kawhi.

    Lol...the hate is strong...

If Kawhi don't leave, we don't have Wemby.

    Trust God's plan. He's a Spurs fan.

Yes Kawhi leaves as a free agent, then that’s his right. He quits on the team with two years left on his contract and hides from the people paying him millions and then tanks his trade value to force a move to LA, well he deserves boos. Honor your contract and then walk.

Oh, I see you weren't serious.

But no. Not unless he knocks out the Thunder. If he does, I hope he then falls off a pier and is never seen again.

But he won a le with Toronto. He made a good choice for him.

It's a business at the end of the day.

Heck guys, except for a comment to Tim about wives not allowed on team flights and a HAIL mary from DRob, TD would have been playing for the Magic. Count your blessings. We about to win some les anyway and have the best young core in the league right now...what's there to be bitter about?

I'm over it. Took a couple years, and that Toronto le run was painful and infuriating to watch... but I've made my peace with it and I don't "hate" Kawhi anymore. Wanted to be close to fam, whatever...

But I'll never root for him. That was some peak level BS what he and his uncle and team did to us, and the reason we have sucked ever since is 100% because of that.

I'm over it, but I'll never forget it

Yes, but Tim played out his contract and had a right to decide where he wanted to go. The issue is not that Kawhi wanted to go to LA. The issue is that the Spurs had a playoff team and were contenders with Kawhi and he quit on that team and that season and all the people that paid to see him play so he could get traded to LA with TWO YEARS left on his contract. And he hid out from the front office reps when they tried to meet him in NYC where he was hiding and he refused to meet with him. I don't hate the guy, I'll just never root for him and never support him. If he left after his contract was up, I wouldn't like it, but I would respect it. That's not what happened.

This is pretty much my mentality towards Kawhi. I despised him from '19-'23 and openly rooted against him but getting Victor allowed me to finally get over it. I still view him as a POS, but I'm not actively invested in wanting to see him fail like I was during that 4-year span. I will never root for him but if he somehow flukes his way to winning it all again like he did in '19 I won't care since I have no emotional investment anymore when it comes to him succeeding or failing.

I’m rooting for Kawhi and the clippers to fail spectacularly, especially considering just how much the clippers were tampering behind the scenes.

However, between the lakers, the clippers, the thunder, and the warriors, things are looking really bad for my agenda as a spurs fan. It seems the nuggets is the best hope in the west.

Nobody respects the Thunder for the exact same reasons nobody respected the Spurs. Small market, quiet superstar that eschews the limelight, defense-first.

They posted the highest point differential and second-highest net rating of all time, but everybody thinks the West is “wide open.”

If the Lakers went 68-14 and +12.9, everybody would think the playoffs were a formality.

Very valid point. I agree. You gotta honor your contract unless a team does you wrong, and Kawhi was treated like royalty. He should have finished his 2 years and the Spurs likely have Torontos ring.

Man, you may be right...I have to admit, I haven't watched much basketball since the Spurs lost a close one to Cleveland late in the year. But I'm getting an 86" LG on Tuesday, so I'll put it to good use and watch these playoffs carefully...increase my knowledge base of our compe ion.
