Same but also screw Celtics.
I just want to see OKC and GSW get knocked out and I'm fine with whoever wins the le. Just not those 2.
Same but also screw Celtics.
I think he has already bumped Kobe out of the top 10.
Just gonna have to learn to live with the fact that at some point OKC is going to ring. Too much depth and SGA is a true #1 plus they have so much draft capital to keep replenishing the team with talent on cheap contracts. And we have seen for years how much of a difference Chip Engelland makes. They're going to be a huge problem in the west for at least the next 6 years before they have to start handing out 35% supermaxes.
Seriously if they fumble this SGA era after they fumbled the KD/Westbrook era, they might as well fold the franchise and hand it back to Seattle
They are so well set up assets-wise that in a prospective future series/rivalry between us and OKC, Spurs are never matching their depth, but are going to lean heavily on having the best player in the series (and hopefully in the league by then) (Wemby) by a distance.. Time for San Antonio to make the playoffs and get some seasoning and experience to see where we at.
Top five players of I've seen in order of appearance: Jordan (post prime), O'Neal, Duncan, James, Jokic.
Jokic has a good case as the GOAT offensive C, but his one weakness (not defense in general, but specifically rim protection) is a significant one for his position and why I'd have a tough time ever considering him the GOAT C period no matter how the remainder of his career plays out.
I can't believe the Nuggets beat the Clippers (Harden always and inexplicably sucks me in), but I still think the Thunder beat them in 6, while the Timberwolves should do likewise to the Warriors.
Why?
Dude is a compe or and is legit a good guy
And he is one of the few players who gave Zaza a taste of his own medicine
Last year Giddy was the fall guy after the Thunder caved in the playoffs. If Chet is the next to go they shouldn’t have a problem finding a taker. Hope the Spurs aren’t interested.
I'd take Chet in a heartbeat. Also they won't scapegoat him, I don't think
I wouldn't put it on Chet but maybe more Jalen Williams at least for game 1 was not a good game from him. Think half his shoots were 3s. When are these idiotic players going to learn to get a rhythm finding higher percentage shots after you clang a few in a row.
The Boston game reminded me of there 2022 or 23 playoff run where they just jacked them up hard especially late in game and died hard on them.
Thin towers!
I just don't see a path to s om for Chet. He'll be a high end starter, occasional all-star, best case scenario.
He's too weak to contest legit centers, but doesn't have enough handles or quickness to be a creator on the perimeter, meaning his height isn't much of an advantage unless he's the weak side rim protector.
Williams is just disappointing, nothing else. He really needs to step up.
Presti will think hard before offering big money to either of them, can't have ~80 million tied to subpar playoff performers.
Honestly, I just don't like him.
I don't like that he show-boated all his years in OKC when he hadn't won a damn thing.
I don't like his flexing and his taunting and his over-aggressive play.
I don't like that he got a fake MVP because his team force-fed him triple-doubles and then still got bounced in the first round.
I don't like his demeanor or the fact that he consistently gets into beef with fans then gets them ejected for calling him "Westbrick"
He is a fake winner. Yes, he plays hard and he tries hard, but he is more likely to break your team than he is going to save it, and I expect the same result to come to fruition in this postseason.
There is a reason he has been passed around the NBA like a blunt with a run in it, and this season hasn't changed my opinion.
I do think the Thunder will chip at least once. Their huge advantage is that the WC is going to change massively in the next couple of years. They'll no longer have the old guard to go through.
But their woes are pretty fascinating. Holmgren I think can be fantastic, but his paper-thin physique doesn't help against bangers. Williams' difficulties in the playoffs need to turn around rapidly.
They picked up Caruso, but he's 31. Hartenstein was a great pickup and he's only 27. Presti picks up good value players like Dort.
They still have a trove of picks. If they go in on a Giannis, that's huge. Probably should do so. As far as keeping picks, only the Dallas swap in several years isn't protected (I don't think). Otherwise the best they get is mid lottery. But of course they can trade up.
I thought they weren't very compe ive against Dallas last year, although it did go six games. We'll see this year.
If they don't take a huge swing at Giannis - and I'd certainly do so - they may need to target an outside-shooting flamethrower. One of J-Will's problems is that he attacks the same areas SGA attacks. So, the paint is packed already for his secondary drives. If they got a Tre Johnson type, that could be huge. But of course he's not a great defender...
It should count as 2 losses if the Pacers don't win this one, would be embarrassing stuff and they'd probably lose the series.
There were three players who had 1000 points, 500 rebounds, and 500 assists this season:
LeBron James
Nikola Jokic
Josh Giddey
Giddey wasn’t their problem, lack of size was. He was a bad fit, needing the ball on a team with SGA, but he wasn’t/isn’t a bad player. Chicago struck paydirt.
I’m guessing they’ll lowball Chet on his extension, he’ll refuse to sign and tell them he’s going into RFA next summer when a number of teams have reserved cap room, and they’ll trade him like they traded Giddey last year when he refused a bench role.
In a universe without Wemby, Chet would be the Unicorn. He does everything Vic does, just 3” shorter. He’s a better 3 point shooter as of now.
Giddey got taken out of games because he couldn't shoot and his defense was awful. Percentages look decent, but he was the guy everyone left wide open.
They could've kept him another year, but they were never going to pay him with so many others also being in line for extensions.
I'd still rather keep Chet than Williams, as Mr. Body said he's doing the same thing SGA does on offense.I’m guessing they’ll lowball Chet on his extension, he’ll refuse to sign and tell them he’s going into RFA next summer when a number of teams have reserved cap room, and they’ll trade him like they traded Giddey last year when he refused a bench role.
I guess it's going to be about which one accepts a lowball from OKC, if either one does.
Imo, Williams was actually the reason they lost against the Mavs last year.
Yeah, they got bullied in the paint, but all the games were really close and Williams scoring just 17ppg even if it was on decent efficeny wasn't enough. He didn't put enough pressure on Luka/Kyrie like the Celtics could with all of their perimeter players.
Obviously it's not something that should be held against him since that was his first legit playoff series, but last night's game was concerning.
Meanwhile, Mitc is on one yet again.
Is he the best playoff performer in the league, not counting MVP level players who are expected to do it?
He's got a 28/5/5 career playoff average with a lot of big moments.
The Cavs paid a high price for him, but sometimes the high price is worth it.
Giddey is a stat padding loser, best suited as a tank commander or fake #1 on a pretender team (much like Chicago was this year). He'll never lead a serious team anywhere. Caruso is a role player, but much more valuable than Giddey will ever be. It's kind of like comparing Demar Derozan to Derrick White. Demar has and will forever put up more impressive stats, but who would you rather have on your playoff team?
Big Balls Haliburton![]()
There goes Cavs season, brutal ending.
