Stephen Adams is one of those guys who I’ve always thought would be a perfect Spur, but never made it to our team (JJ Red was one of these guys when he was still playing as well). I’d love to see him join us, especially now that it looks like he’s healthy again (earlier in the year he couldn’t play much)… but I don’t want to get my hopes up too much.

Adams is about to turn 32. he's not young, but he's not really on the verge of being washed. on a 2 year deal he should be fine.

Tbh, Adams and John Collins would be perfect.

Collins is a PF who can play some backup C minutes against small lineups if needed.
Adams is a veteran presence we need and won't complain if he doesn't play much in some games.

We just need to get rid of Jeremy. For both Spurs and his sake.

My dream scenario for backup C is that we sign Adams and resign CBass. Charles could learn to model his game after the Kiwi and maybe have a chance to save his career as a third stringer who only needs to fill in when Adams needs a day off, which might give Charles' knees a chance to not betray him for once.

Adams if from Rotorua, one of the stinkiest civilized places on earth because of the geothermal activity (but still a super cool and beautiful place) No wonder he's such a tough SOB.

    He's washed as a starter

But I would like Brook Lopez as a back up center. Could play with Wemby against big lineups.

I just can't see Naz becoming available; I think it's a pipe dream. Even if Randle doesn't opt out the Wolves are nearly $35 million under the second apron for next season and I doubt Naz is going to command the nearly $40 million a year it would take to put them in the second apron for 2025-26.
Where are you getting your salary numbers? I'm looking at Sportrac, they'll have $12.804M with all options exercised, Naz surely opts out so that's another $15.022M, and they have $2.35M + $2.19M + $2.2M they can cut/decline= that's $34.57M under the 2nd apron with only 9 guys rostered, and Conley/Dillingham as the only PGs. Conley will be 39 & Dilly didn't answer a single question if he can be a rotation player, much less a 24+mpg guy.
That's less than $35M to fill out 6 poster spots and with only 6 rotation guys rostered after Naz and NWA. Without a trade and with Randle, best case they get Naz for $25M, and have $9.57Mish to fill 5 roster spots.
They gotta do something, Donte @ $12M and Dilly at $6.5M are prolly the only movable salaries.
Jaden is owed $110M over the next 4 yrs, plus D but way below avg 3% and Ast%, and just average Reb%. Ruby is unmovable, Conley likely same given PG situ, Ant is franchise.

If he recovers well from the torn ACL I wouldn't mind signing Mo Wagner for cheap for two or three years. Something in the ballpark of 24-30M/3.

ACL recovery takes a full year and another full season of play. You'd pay him only to have him play at his previous production in 2027..

If Randle opts in and they pick up the options on Garza and Minot they can sign Naz to just under $30 million and stay under the 2nd apron which will be a little over $207 million. That will be 13 players.

Sure and I think Naz gets around $30M.
But that rotation of Ant-Donte-McD-31 y/o Randle- 33y/o Gobert-Naz-38 y/o Conley and Dillingham who played 500 minutes this yr. No depth, very old/very unproven PGs. Got 26mpg/g to replace from NWA.
Thin. So thin that one roatation player injury could = lottery for a pick they don't control.

They'd also have to trade the 17th pick and its $4.2M money for a future pick and you have to factor in minimum salaries for the Aprons. If they pay Naz $30M and trade the 17th without taking back salary and sign two rookie minimum guys to get to 15 @ $1.157 each, they're still over the 2nd apron.

They have get Naz to take a big discount, let him go, and/or make a trade to stay under the 2nd Apron. Otherwise the math doesn't work assuming Randle opts in.
If they keep/roster the 17th and roster a rookie minimum and a vet minimum @ $2.09M, they can only pay Naz about $22.5M.
Not many teams can get to $30M in capspace, but Bkn and likely Det can, and Mem/Chi/Hou/NOP can likely get to $25M and make him a starter. Naz grew up in Jersey and went to LSU, while Det/Hou looks better moving forward and anyone that gets Cooper from that group likely has a better long-term future compared to an Apron'd Minny Ant-Gobert-McD team.

They gotta make a trade this summer, probably multiple because they'd have to take back 90% of any outgoing salary. Or just be a 2nd Apron team again.

I would love to offer Naz $30 million and hopefully Wolves let him go.

He is exactly the big we need.

One of the few players who showed up for the Rockets in the playoffs so would probably have to outbid for him. Think Houston will try and bring him back. They don't have any other person on their team who can control the glass like he does.

Was reading one of the gossip sights suggesting Orlando have a decision to make on Mo Wagner. He’s injured now, and they own a team option they have to decide on by 06/29. Someone to watch for the backup C role.

What about Jake Laravia? He has good athleticism and size and is a good shooter and decent rebounder. I’d like to have him coming off the bench for us. He should be relatively cheap.

Getting Harper quite change who I think Spurs should go after in FA/trade.

Will Spurs have a big enough offensive place for player like Naz Reid, Cam Johnson or Santi Aldama ?

It's far from sure and Spurs might be better going after players with a lower offensive usage. Instead of targeting a 15ppg player, they might be better with a 10ppg player who is a stronger defender/rebounder.

There are some rumors about NBA teams being interested in one of the best Euroleague player named Nigel Hayes. I'm not sure how his defense would translate in NBA but he seems like a good fit with Spurs.

Well the Spurs would need to pull another rabbit out the hat. The market for young 3-and-D forwards is pretty slim nowadays

Been a huge Laravia backer for awhile and I'd love to add him in a theoretical SF rotation with Barnes and Champ in a scenario where we take Harper and move Devin and Keldon. Should cost less than the MLE. I know SAC would love to keep him, but they can't offer him more than his declined 4th year option of $5MM/yr.

I don’t really understand cap stuff that well but is there a way to split the MLE between him and another player say like Kornet and we get two birds with one stone type of deal? Bc I think are both what this team needs
