Yes
No
I'm not a conspiracy theorist but, c'mon, Mavs getting the #1 pick after them gifting Luka to the Lakers is, at best, a crazy coincidence, tbh.
If it is, thanks for gifting us D-Rob, Timmy and Wemby.![]()

If it was rigged, AD never goes to New Orleans but it's interesting Akron native James went to Cleveland, and Frenchman Victor went to Tony Parker's team. If it's not rigged, a rigged outcome is probably statistically indistinguishable from the current reality.
This forum is funny sometimes. "Dallas is trying to move to Vegas by dumping Luka to remove fan interest" to "NBA rigged the lottery to give Dallas a 1st overall pick to keep fan interest in Dallas".
Rigged, but I'm thankful for two things:
1) No Wemby Castle Flagg dynasty
2) Danny Ainge tanked for NOTHING

I say follow the money. Hundreds if not thousands of MFFL canceled Mavs season tickets. I mean, they held a mock funeral.
In order to appease those MAGA MFFL loons, Silver took a page out of his mentor's book and threw MFFL a bone. Stern did it before:
- CP0 left the Hornets in 2011. Hornets were awarded AD as the #1 overall pick in 2012.
- AD leaves the Pels, the Pels mysteriously "won" the lottery and drafted Zion.
These ain't really coincidences. Just follow the money.![]()
considering the actual draw is on video, with reps from every team present, and some media members present, i dont see how its physically possibe to rig it
Google the 1985 NBA draft son. It's possible.![]()
Pels won the Zion lottery before the Davis trade
heck just skip to 0:40 here
that was a different process altogether with envolopes and stuff, not ping pong balls
I have no clue and don't really care but I voted yes just because it was the first thing I thought when I saw the Mavs getting the first spot. Funny seeing so many others thinking the same thing because of it.
If it's not rigged Nico is one of the luckiest people alive.
Owners/teams are business partners, not compe ors. If the league thrives, all the owners eat. If it's struggling (like it is currently), everyone's revenue isn't maximized.
Why does the star player end up with the Lakers so often? Coincidentally also the league's biggest brand. Pau, Dwert, AD, Luka. No other team has a track record like that. I still remember Stern back in the day saying his ideal Finals was Lakers vs Lakers.
yeah, but they dont share 100% of revenue. obviously its in each teams best interest to get better players, to be more compe ive. why did the NBA send wemby to san antonio? GMs have their jobs on the line, and theyre usually the ones observing the lottery draw, not the owners. besides, having seen the actual drawing process with the ping pong balls, i dont think its phsyically possible to rig it.
lakers are a glory franchise that players flock to. and despite it being expensive to live in, its a desired location. more marketing opportunities for stars as well. shaq came as a free agent. lebron came as a free agent. Why does the star player end up with the Lakers so often? Coincidentally also the league's biggest brand. Pau, Dwert, AD, Luka. No other team has a track record like that. I still remember Stern back in the day saying his ideal Finals was Lakers vs Lakers.
Just like the nba gifted Wembolbol to the spurs hoping they'd develop him to become Duncan 2.0 and lead another spurs dynasty, not realizing Wembolbol is a big soft french bum and nothing like Duncan.
Now this is 100% Silver rewarding Nico for sending Luka to the nba's premier franchise.
The money trail wouldn't end in New Orleans. It would be Miami, Chicago, NY, LA/GS or Boston. Jimmy Buckets![]()
How many of those were free agents who can go where they like? Big market draw? Sure. Rigged? I doubt it.
None. I specifically listed star players that were traded there. Usually with people wondering if that was really the best package the other team could've gotten. I can't think of another team that has that track record with star player trades.
Thanks for clarifying.
I asked ChatGPT what it thinks, given the lopsided value of trades historically favoring specific franchises, the profit sharing model of the league and the compe ive situation with each team involved in these trades at the time, what could be happening.
"Based on the pattern, it seems like the league and certain franchises may be strategically aligning to maximize revenue and viewership, even if that means some teams benefit more consistently from high-profile trades. It suggests a business model that places a premium on marquee franchises and star power.
They achieve that by facilitating trades that funnel top talent into the most marketable teams, ensuring those teams remain compe ive and attract the largest audiences. This, in turn, boosts TV ratings, merchandise sales, and overall league profitability, even if it creates disparities in compe ive balance."
I think we all know this already, but I wouldn't call that rigged. Rigging, to me, includes perhaps determining the outcome. They still have to play the game, and right now OKC is looking to come out of the West. It does raise ethical concerns and if the NBA is willing to use that business model (covertly) then them coercing refereeing isn't that much of a leap in speculation. Perhaps the run of the Spurs, the drafting of Tim Duncan and Victor Wembanyama are attempts to remove some of the spotlight from the one sided trades that benefit marquee teams, namely the Lakers. I could not get ChatGPT to accuse the Lakers, it would hem and haw around about the Kevin Garnett trade and stooped as far as implying the Westbrook and Wiggins trades were impactful.
Most people have already forgotten, but at the time of the trade there was civil unrest brewing in Dallas.
It's possible that dumping Luka was a white hat sportball program that instantly overwrote the color revolution programs the cabal had installed there.
It fits as there's nothing more humiliating for the cabal than seeing their own machinations turned against them. Sportball of course has often being used by the cabal for pacification & distraction ops.
The Cooper Flagg pick is Dallas being compensated for the spent ammunition, and unfortunately Utah will have to wait longer for their next White centerpiece.
