Not happening, let it go
Sarr's agent wanted Wizards because no max contracts on Wizards. Hawks were going to possibly have more max contracts and less money was the argument. Spurs money situation way better than Mavs. Two max contracts. Mavs Team owners have eye on Vegas. Was it me or Flagg didnt look too thrilled when Mavs got pick. Wemby was laughing up a storm when Spurs got him. Flagg not a smile.

Not happening, let it go
It's time to put down the hopium and start rosterbating while watching Harper highlight vids like a normal functional fanatic.
ok it could be a pipe dream...
But just for the sake of dreaming but not that dreaming....let's try to rationalize the situation.
Dallas is in a absolutely win now mode and for win now mode its clear the goal was and necessarly still is winning this year or next (too many big old names like A Davis, Thompson and already proven players like Gafford, PJ Washington)....then the window is definitively closed.
KY is out for all next season and lets talk frankly....his game is based on a maximum stress of his ankles and knees....I see no way how a 34 years old guy will be back to his level after an achilles....for sure not in next season and proably also in 2027 He wull be limited by precautionary reabilitation rules...KY contract works for only next season (PO that will be necessarly exercised by him). Then he's gonna be a not that attractive (because of age, playing style and recent bigb time injury) UFA...probably only worth a MLE contract.
That said, its clear that no star playmaking means no way to have a chance of play offs success.
Its practically inevitable, if Dallas wants still to contend for next sesson, to replace the all star play making (Dinwiddie can't be the solution).
Not only this.
The rebulding era for Dallas starts immediately after 2027 (when Thompson and Davis will be in the wrong part of 30 years old)...with practically no good picks available for the rebuilding...
That said, their goals are imho:
1) find out an all star point guard that can replace the star point guard they were supposed to have;
2) get rid of the contract of said injured point guard contract;
3) try to acquire some picks for the future (after 2027).
Now, for point one, we have the said star point guard in Fox.
We can trade him for dead money contract of Irving for point 2.
We have some young players plus draft picks so we can add some draft picks to the package.
The big luck of drafting the number 1 choice can solve this....
So, for example, a Fox plus Wesley and Graham plus 2025 number 14, plus some other picks for Flagg plus Irving contract plus other Dallas garbage contracts could at least be considered balanced in the wiew of Dallas and SA respective goals...
Dreaming too much?
Yep. Delusional doesn’t even begin to describe it.
Seriously, I dunno how a player can still trust and wanna play for Dallas after the Luka's trade
He knows he would rot in there with an aging roster and no control of their picks.
Do we really want a guy that would force his way here this early? I don’t think he will or should. I know Fox forced his way here but we don’t know what went on behind the scenes in Sacramento. Flagg will be a Maverick! You are better off hoping Nico does something crazy like picking Harper which would actually be a better fit. I don’t even think he is dumb enough to pass on Flagg. You draft the best player when you are a lottery pick team. You draft for fit or projects when you are an established playoff team and/or contender. Get over it and be happy the Spurs have the 2nd pick
Yes, we want this guy if he forced his way here, but
Yes, he will be a Maverick
I really don't want an Eli Manning type on this team. Not interested in somebody that's going to strongarm the system before he even gets to the NBA.
We got the #2 pick and probably Dylan Harper when we should be picking #8. I'm elated in that.
Say it with me. Flagg will not become a Spur. Move on.
Mavs can always trade if they see Dylan as a better fit, and get more future picks.
I think that might have been 90% of Flagg’s reaction. Also, not just Luka. They lost or traded Porzingas and Brunson for nothing.
Yes there is a slight chance.
Cooper doesn't need to force his way.
He just needs to tell Dallas nicely that he prefers not to play for them. Refuse work out for them, just like Sarr.
Then Dallas will consider trade with Spurs.
The reason is that Harper is really good. May even be better than Cooper.
I like this nonsensical thread. Ok now stay with me now. Spurs trade Castle Vassell KJ plus 4 future FRPs including the 14th for Giannis. We draft Harper. Then we trade Giannis plus 2 FRPs for Flagg. Now we have our big 3 of the future and they’re all young and on the same time line.
Yeah, exactly, Eli Manning only won two championships.
this is not nba2k
Flagg would have to go back to Duke to avoid being picked by Dallas. Not sure if he can still do that or not, but he’s not giving up a #1 pick rookie contract to do that. Dallas are picking him. Flagg’s team should say he doesn’t want to play for Nico Harrison and try to force him out. The city will love him for that.
so you trade Castle +6 FRP for a rookie?
My own personal goal nope. But what it would take to get Flagg I believe would be this trade. And that’s the whole point of this whimsical thread.
I would only trade Branham + Wesley + 2nd for Flagg. He has some red flags to me…
Really? What are those? High end defender who can shoot the three and looks to have an outstanding motor. He looks ridiculously well rounded and makes up for his so-so height for the PF position with a good wingspan and a 35 inch vertical.
Flagg gets to go to a somewhat compe ive team right off the bat and Nico gets to move off the "worst GM in history" and "totally incompetent" label, Flagg to Dallas is happening.
Uh, just because Dallas got lucky AF doesn’t mean Nico is no longer an idiot. That the ESPN narrative that you’re parroting.
Wishful thinking on your part that he would give up this opportunity.
