LB Xavier Griffin backing off of USC is the good news that 247 was referencing earlier.

"I just hear a lot of good things about them," Griffin told Horns247 of the Longhorns on his visit. "They've been trying to get me up. Finally got an opportunity."

"Texas has been one to really surprise me and my mom as well," Griffin told 247Sports' Brett Greenberg. "We went out there for the first time last month and it was just a lot of love shown, they really have a great camaraderie amongst the players and coaches so excited to be around that again for the OV. Austin is like an in between of LA and ATL so a lot different than what we were expecting."
