If he stinks it up in Game 7 and OKC lose, this will be a legit conversation..
Jokic and Murray played 14 series together.
They either won or went to G7 in 13 of those 14.
Actually a ridiculous stat.
If he stinks it up in Game 7 and OKC lose, this will be a legit conversation..
Can’t trust guys named Jalen to be your #2 guy.
Watching this series, I think we need to start to realize the irony that while everyone is crying and whining about Joker's lack of "help/support", we may be looking at the truth that SGA ACTUALLY has no true number 2 or 3 and that his team is really filled with high valued ROLE players that play their parts but aren't capable of thriving outside of SGA. Williams has been abhorrent and he LOOKS scared to death. Murray may appear helter skelter and inconsistent, and he certainly has/can be(en)...be he has proven CAPABLE of dominating and cooking at key points and Gordon has been unbelievably reliable and has been the most clutch player so far even over Joker. Williams great game was a proven fluke and outside of that has been bench-worthy literally. Chet simply doesn't offer anything that can possibly challenge or stress a defense.
SGA has to be the driver of ALL the action and that narrative has been nowhere in sight. The regular season appears very flukey and the post season has exposed HIS lack of reliable help when having to face the same team over and over and they're playing a simple zone.
Its pretty crazy and may actually validate his MVP (tho Joker is still the better player for sure).
Agreed that Jokic was robbed of MVP. Dude actually outplayed his previous MVP seasons.
He averaged a goddamn triple-double, which is the only reason Westbrook got his bogus MVP. And he was only 0.4 PPG from AVERAGING A THIRTY-POINT TRIPLE DOUBLE!
SGA did have a great season too, but the only justification to give it to him was because the Thunder won 68 games...but since when was MVP a team award?
Yes, he was the best player on the best team, but he didn't outplay Joker. I chalk it up to voter fatigue and they just wanted to give it to someone else.
It's nauseating how much everyone is just on Jokic's all the time. Nothing is ever his fault when they lose. He had more turnovers than assists for like 3 games in a row this series but yall blame anyone but him. Also flops just as much as anyone I've ever seen yet somehow avoids the flopper label.
sga is good but also a free throw merchant. his best game couldn't top Joker's best game. 50/50 series, nuggets have more poise and experience and the best player in the world but OKC also plays better at home and its possible nuggets just gas out in game 7. they've played many games so far.
Typical box score watcher. Do you even watch the games to see how many open looks he generates?
He started flopping because OKC was allowed to constantly foul him early on in the series.
Yeah, assists only come from made shots. All he can do is set the table. His teammates have to sit down and eat.
Yep, always an excuse. "the Thunder forced him into being a flopper
", as if I haven't been watching him do it all year.
SGA flop: ugh what a foul baiter
Jokic flop: wow what a smart and crafty player
Etc
Who's making excuses?
Jokic is in a 7 game series against a team that has the MVP and won 18 more games.
You're just trying to find reasons to hate on the best player in the league.
Jokic gets fouled all the time, he has to sell it to get any calls.
SGA barely gets fouled, ever. He's mastered barreling into barely moving defenders and that's a call every time in today's game.
Weird hill to die on tbh. Dude averaged a 30 point triple double as a Center. He’s clearly the best player in the world. Also Joker lost when he put up 46 and 24. And game 2 everybody sucked so hard to blame just one guy. Joker is setting up his teammates for wide open ing shots and they are bricking them. I mean MPJ is a max player who scored 10 points last game which is more than all the other games combined. if MPJ just averaged 10 ppg then this series would’ve been over. Imagine paying a guy max money and he averages 2 points a game and then some guy on a forum complains about Jokic
The Thunder were supposed to be some juggernaut up and coming dynasty and they are learning first hand how hard it is to win when your best player is a midget on the court and you build your team like figure skaters instead of hockey players. Them and Cleveland are the ultimate finesse teams in the league. Soft and small are bad combinations.
Harden has made a living out of it.
They literally changed the foul rules on pulling up on jumpers out of screens because he would just jump into or swipe any guy trying to go over.
MVP has always been a team award. Usually goes to a player on a top 3 team in the conference
Jokic comically reacts to call attention to what is often legitimate contact because he's big. SGA is a master at moving into defenders and forcing whistles.
Has the MVP already been announced?
Usually...yes.
Russ got his when the Thunder finished 6th in the Western Conference (and lost 4-1 in the first round), but as I said...it's because he averaged the trip-dub on a bad team.
That's the same season the Warriors won 67 games and the Spurs won 61 games with prime Kawhi (who finished 3rd behind Russ and Harden).
The point is...the NBA and the voters control the narrative here.
Okay Tim Duncan fan, calm down a little bit.![]()
This is the definition if a double standard. He ran into a guy full speed at half court and then flopped around and acted incredulous at not getting a call.
When was TD ever celebrated to the level that Jokic currently is?
If he was that celebrated, he wouldn't have lost MVPs to two different FT merchants.
The fact that Jokic cries like a a lot is maybe the only legit criticism I have of him
Yeah, but he didn't get the call. SGA gets whistles at minimal contact that he initiates.
