    this is so Texas

"I took the job at Texas A&M to never take another job again, and that hasn't changed in my mind," Schlossnagle said. "That's unfair to talk about something like that. ... I gave up a big part of my life to come take this job, and I've poured every ounce of my soul in this job. And I've given this job every single ounce I could possibly give it. So write that."

Schlossnagle agreed to a deal with the Longhorns just one day after a 6-5 loss to Tennessee in Game 3 ended the Aggies' season just one win shy of a first national championship.

Yeah, this entire thing by Schlong is pretty foul.

"I think it's pretty selfish of you to ask me that question, to be honest with you," Schlossnagle said. "But I left my family to be the coach at Texas A&M. I took the job at Texas A&M to never take another job again. And that hasn't changed in my mind. That's unfair to talk about something like that. ...

"I understand you've gotta ask the question. But I gave up a big part of my life to come take this job, and I've poured every ounce of my soul in this job. And I've given this job every single ounce I can possibly give it. Write that."

Schlossnagle apparently has given the last ounce he's ever going to give to Texas A&M. Less than 24 hours after that statement, he's headed to Austin.

"Although I know many will be upset with my decision, I chose to make a change to join a longtime friend to continue my career as a college baseball coach," Schlossnagle said, via a statement released by Texas A&M. "The run to the national championship game was truly a remarkable one this year, and I will savor the memories and true friendships I have made there for a lifetime."

This deal was made right after A&M knocked UT out in the regionals. Schlongs mind was never in the CWS if you ask me.

Boy JS played it well then.
He made the mistake of almost beating the #1 ranked team in ATM first ever final appearance. He was going to UT even if he won.

And yes, Schlossnagle lied and got caught off guard. Berated a great question which Aggies ALSO berated until after the confirmation. Then they apologized mightily for the perfectly appropriate question from a journalist who had done his work. Btw, Schloss also apologized and admitted he botched the answer badly. (He basically lied imo)

Aggies are also giving credit to Del Conte for rubbing it in on the day of the final game by announcing it.
The HOUSTON CHRONICLE made the announcement, Del Conte et al sat and then CONFIRMED the story.
The real question is why did Kirk Bohls write the article when he did.

And Bohls had just left the Austin American Statesman to join the Chronicle? Very weird timing but very interesting if you dig deeper. Also Del Conte is not saying anything about accusations of being ruthless with Aggies, he’s kind of bathing in it imo. It’s actually a super interesting view into the world of college/semipro sports. Definitely ruthless. With rules that are far from clear.

Someone sent the 2nd paragraph to me from off the TexAg board. It starts out seriously weird, like everyone who went to UT loves sports and keeps up, NOT. And then it kind of gets cute, sort of: don’t do anything really bad, a simple flaming bag of poop on the doorstep would be enough. So Gaggie.

“Let our leadership do what it will. But, we as individual Aggies should do what we can, when we can. This is no longer business. This is personal. As an Aggie do everything you can to screw over any sip in any situation in your life, "friends", neighbors, co-workers. Everyone of them. This is how you can get back at them individually for the back stabbing and sucker punch. Nothing illegal. Just things that can be annoying.”

    Absolutely.
They were at TCU together and it did not escape Del Conte how good a coach JS was.

Since Del Conte has been hired, UT has won the directors cup 3 out of 4 years. Stanford owned the honor before Del Conte.

UTSA advances to the super after beating UT twice in two days. Aggie present only in coach's heart:

Props to UT for fixing the fence and batter's eye so quickly after Wednesday's supercell. Wild week.

I thought UTSA knocking them out was the lol upset of the week but that's gotta go to Vanderbilt. I'm not sure I've ever even heard of Wright State.

Yeah these double elimination tournaments make for some weird results, but UTSA's offense is for real. Pitching was iffy on both sides but UT left a ton of runners stranded in scoring position in both games.
