I wouldn't take Bailey over three years of Durant. I think Bailey is going to be a bad bust.
Apparently Joan Beringer is drawing strong interest from the Spurs
I don’t want to draft a project but if they do it makes most sense for it to be a big. You can draft one, sign a vet to backup Wemby and bring them along slowly. I would much rather take Beringer than a project wing like Carter Bryant.

I'd throw up a little if they take him. It wouldn't be the same mistake as taking Salaun, as it's the end of the lottery, but these dudes just suck at basketball. I'm not happy about drafting measurements. Go to a suit store if you want measurements.

based on this I’m not so sure the Spurs are picking at 14.
Other options:
Trade for a vet
trade back
trade out for future picks
trade out and trade up from 38
Could also be some workouts where no information came out. Or maybe some workouts that haven’t happened yet. I can believe the spurs didn’t bring any other “top prospects” but I would be very disappointed if they don’t meet with/workout the following:
Cedric Coward
Nique Clifford
Jade Richardson
Carter Bryant
Liam Mcneely
Will Riley
Collin-Murray Boyles
Adou Thiero
Drake Powell
Even if you didn’t like their tape you should bring them in and do your do your due diligence. I’m excluding the international guys because it’s easy for them to meet with those guys under the radar.
I just really feel like they are not going to pick at 14 unless more information comes out.
We don't hear about a lot of their prospects, tbh. But yeah I don't think they pick at 14. They move up, down, or out, if they can.
Yeah, they often hide the workouts of the players they are interested in. I have no idea what they will do with #14, but I hope they get a player who can help in the next year or two.
If KD falls through maybe see what Vassell/#14 could fetch. Could move up, could see what kind of established shooting 3 or 4 we can get etc. Vassell needs to be moved for his sake and ours.
Moving Vassell would have to mean bringing in a shooter. If not KD than probably Cam Johnson. You can probably get Corey Kispert for two 2nds. If using Vassell to trade up it would have to be Tre Johnson or Kon Knueppel. Not sure if they can get up that high with just Vassell. Unless Kon falls to 9.
Saw this on reddit:
Wings with a 7'2 Wingspan Taken In The First Round Since 2016
The List:
Pascal Siakam
OG Anunoby
Mikal Bridges
PJ Washington
Rui Hachimura
Scottie Barnes
Jalen Williams
Tari Eason
Bilal Coulibaly
Jarace Walker
TBD on those last two, but the hit rate is INSANE.
So, who will meet the criteria this year?
Cedric Coward
Rasheer Fleming
Even more intriguing, both hit close to 40% from 3 this year while also averaging super solid steal/block stats. I think both of these guys are worthy of top ten selections, even in such a good draft.
Ok, seriously, where is TiMVP with the draft goods?
Beringer got a high ceiling, but I wouldn't draft him in the first round. He's such a long project that draft and stash in the 2nd round would make a ton of sense.
Yeah, Noa Essengue I might use #14 on.
But Joan (of no three-point arc) Beringer would have to go lower.
In fact, until lately, he's been mid-second round in most mocks.
I don't see any team in the Top 10 who would give up assets for Vassell, other than maybe Houston. Not because Devin is a negative, but because none of them are in a position to be buying guys like Vassell. They're all rebuilding, and rebuilding teams don't send out assets for supporting cast members.
Houston is the one exception, and I think Devin would actually fit alright there, but I doubt there is a deal to be had with them for #10.
a wingspan doesn‘t make a player a wing. Fleming is for sure not a wing. maybe a 4, but likely a small 5 in the NBA.
I was thinking about this but just don’t see which team in the 3-13 range needs or wants a Devin Vassell archetype. He’s not good enough to get you into the 3-6 range so even going from NOP at 7. The Pels are already stacked at the 2-3 positions with Murphy, Herb, McCollum. Brooklyn is rebuilding, Raptors have a glut of 2/3s, Houston maybe but can’t see the Spurs trading with a rival, Portland no, Chicago maybe but there’s no point loving up 2 spots.
Berringer has OKC draft and stash written all over him.
Maybe Atlanta at best.
So we all agree spurs are not trading up using Vassell so they would have to use future picks. Not sure that I would want to do that. So looks like trade out or trade down. Or pick at 14
OK has two picks in the first round they might use them to move up
Since I still think we will trade #14 for KD, how could we buy another mid first rounder? Looking specifically at Brooklyn at #19, #26 and #27. Maybe a gang of future seconds gets you #27. Or we just tell Phoenix to give us their #29 back since we are extorting them anyway![]()
There are more drafted than on this list, wtf
It's since 2016.
Here are all of the combine antho measurements by year that you can sort through if you want to try to find someone missing: https://www.nba.com/stats/draft/comb...onYear=2025-26
No, more wings with that wingspan. They're fudging what they're calling a wing.
The only ones I found are if you want to make an argument that Harry Giles and Caleb Swanigan were wings, and then Rayan Rupert.
