Happy Juneteenth. Man, it's crazy that modern right-wingers do not understand that the labels of Republican and Democrat changed decades ago. Like what, almost a century ago? On social media, they (today's Republicans) keep saying stuff like "Thank goodness Republicans freed slaves from Democratic oppression", etc., taking credit and or passing it off as if the white-supremacist party that has been the Republican party for the last however long, were in fact the ones to free the slaves.
It's basically deflection. What a terrible trait and character flaw to have. It's like saying "I WIN, I WIN!", when you didn't actually win, or saying "MINE, MINE, MINE!", when it's not actually yours, and saying "HE DID IT, HE DID IT!", when it was in fact you that did it. Like a child, but adults doing this.
They're literally the Democrats from those days. It's just mind blowing that they don't understand this. They are either being completely disingenuous, or they can't get it through their heads (can't fix stupid, etc.). A complete intellectual void fills modern Republicans' brains.
