Eh. That feels like going in on a super star trade, at least part of one, not a whole one, and i dont know if Bam is worth it

Hate that contract. If you were worried about Durant s, you should want no part of this. In year 4,we’d be paying Wemby, Fox, Castle, and Bam’s $56M. That’s way too much, second apron .

Best case is Spurs keeping Fox+Castle+Harper in a deal.

    Vassell + Sochan + 3 firsts + 5 2nds
no too much that. Draft Sorber or Beringer instead . Save the money

    KD went for Jalen + Brooks + 10 + 5 2nds.

My proposal has Devin + Sochan (I rate that as slightly better than Jalen + Brooks, but probably about equal overall without splitting hairs depending on how one team or another views these guys.

So my proposal is 3 firsts + 5 2nds. That means Bam is worth 2 more firsts. Seems reasonable when you factor in Bam being 27 vs KD being 36 while keeping Castle + Harper.

Whether or not SA should do something like that, I think that is what it could cost roundabout

Thought about it... definitely sitting this one out. Need to conserve my energy for manifesting better/more realistic trades. Have fun boys but please don't crash SpursTalk with such endeavors.

Bam is the perfect big to pair with Luka, explosive lob threat and great at pick and roll, although he'd probably have a career high in rebounds with all those 3pt bricks Wembamamba likes to take.

    Tough call
So heat gets a wink wink deal for when they trade Bam to the lakers (for pennies on the dollar) to get a top 3 pick next year when they tank (one of Dybantsa, Peterson or Boozer guaranteed).

Dev already makes 27M. Sochan is due an extension. Let’s call it 15M. Thats 42M for Sochan + Devin. I have no issues aggregating their salaries to Bam (and the left over is the true “extra” cost which isnt so bad)

Dev doesn’t cost you multiple draft picks. He’s here. Sochan is here.

The reality is that you cannot pay Wemby, Fox, Castle, Harper and Bam. You’d have to let him roll off, and that’s an expensive rental at your price of 3 FRPs.

The money for Bam comes from Sochan + Vassell so you have to trade both of them anyways in your scenario then Bam or not.

Even as a 3rd team in a Bam to LA deal we might be able to grab some decent scraps for adding 2nds and absorbing some cheapish salary.

How would they make the contract situations work in a couple of years? Overpaid and a less than ideal fit. Nothing to see here.

Did you even read my post? The money is one factor, although your trade ing jacks that up $13-14M. YOU CAN’T PAY 5 MAXIMUM DEALS. You do understand that, right? It’s also dumb to spend 3 FRPs on a player you KNOW you’re going to let walk.

Dev will never see another contract from this team. Sochan will sign some sort of bargain deal. The money will be far less than Bam’s contract.

Im not so sure my friend. And they have several years before they need to pay Castle, Harper and Wemby all together

In year 4, you’d be paying Bam’s $54M, Fox’s $50M, Wemby’s reported $60M, and Castle at probably $40M. The next year, Harper gets paid, and you have to let Bam go for nothing, after paying 3 FRPs for him.

    1) We dont know Fox number yet

    2) Barnes coming off the books as well (19M)

    3) that’s still 3 years minimum of really high level basketball

    4) you can recoup many of those picks likely if you are forced to trade a star who is worth 60M due to salary cap issues.

    5) Maybe its Fox who is let go since you have Castle + Harper who in this scenario are worth 50M+ each and that good.

It’ll almost certainly by Fox AND Bam going out the door, with Harper being paid that next season. Your trio for the next 4-5 years is Wemby, Castle, and Harper, but even that won’t last forever. Once Harper and Castle hit their 3rd contracts, you can’t even pay the three of them, and put a credible roster around them in the era of the second apron.
