All ive seen is random mentions that supposedly Wemby has asked to play the 4 and get a big next to him.
I havent seen anything to that note today but maybe its there.
What are the Wemby Rumours? Is it something to do with his health?

Thanks. I thought it might have been something to do with his health, so that's a relief.
If it's for him playing PF, then that is also an issue as it seems a lot of people think he does best at C when he has a slower guy on him. It would explain why the Spurs are looking at Centers.
don't drag me into this
I was actually the one proposing this trade first in my salary cap thread months ago. I know Bam and Fox are friends. The problem is Pat Riley does not tank. He wanted KD. Now he wants DeRozan. They are not going to blow up the team from what I understand.
Now contract wise, yes he will be overpaid, but hear me out:
He makes 37 million this upcoming season, so you don't need much to match salary. His 2+1 extension is expensive, but it's only 3 years. The last year plus the player option are critical. Now if you can somehow make that work where you dip into the tax for only 1 year then that won't be a big issue. Bringing in Bam is probably as good as it gets when it comes to convincing Fox to take a discount on his extension.
Extending Bam once his deal runs out should also be a possibility. He won't get max money again playing on the Spurs when he's 31.
Again this all depends on what you have to give up. Btw Heat fans are pissed off at Pat Riley. They want his old ass to retire and pick a direction instead of being mediocre.

He is buying Spurstalk
This is the more interesting discussion than the KD trade and I was waiting for the Adebayo rumors to start. A 2-way all star big who can play next to Wemby and matches the Fox timeline is a much better fit but a way more expensive option. Spurs will have to give up either Castle or the #2 pick in this trade. The #2 pick would limit the additional FRPs required and wondering if a Vassell + Branham + 2nd pick + SRPs would do it. Depends how much the Heat values Harper. But I'd rather trade Castle and a couple extra firsts.
Should the Spurs do it though? Maybe not for the 2nd pick but Vassell + Castle + FRPs might be tempting if the Spurs can keep Sochan and the 14th pick (though unlikely if the Spurs are in a bidding war).
I've never really watched Bam, but the little I have watched, I'm not a fan.
The main point I guess would be if his game fits well/meshes with Victor. If you guys that have watched him a lot think he'd fit well with Victor, then it might be worth looking at.
Wemby, Adebayo front court would be sick tbh
Do we need to give up the Coyote??
I don't see it happening, especially with all of those east teams having their star players sidelined with ACL injuries. Besides that the Heat have a ton of cap space in 2026, so I assume they will bet on free agents going there.
No way, his contract is terrible for Spurs going forward. And getting him would cost a lot
One of the worst topics in a while, tbh.
Onto to it. Stand by all units operator on Spurstalk lol.
Did you need those rumor to realize Spurs need a big man asap?
Sochan was the only option at some point
It has nothing to do with Wemby's alleged request, but with the biggest need of this roster as well as a wing
Another big who doesn't want to play 5 but shoot mid-range shots?
No thanks
El Jefe says he needs to get over himself. Mason Plumlee is out there. https://www.si.com/nba/2022/04/06/ba...-team-usa-2019
It’s probably best for the spurs to get respected vets at this point rather than expensive star level players. The requirements of the spurs now really isn’t shot creation, or offence in general. On defence we have theoretical defenders but the product on the floor shows otherwise. The issue is discipline and execution and a professional vet, ideally one who can rebound somewhat would be a good option.
Barnes and Paul fulfilled that role last year. Paul seems to be heading out but I’d like to keep Barnes around for the same effect this year. Adding someone like Adams would’ve been perfect but that ship sailed. I don’t mind Drummond but I’m not sure if hes known for professionalism. Brook Lopez is probably too far past his prime by now.
Back to the topic, bam is a star, would be a great fit defensively but im not sure if he’s that vet presence. He is also way too expensive.
