I would be too if I was a Utah fan. I wonder what they're saying with the buyout of Clarkson now.
Utah is definitely up to something

Imagine interviewing for the Knicks coaching job and being told Russ will be on the roster.

    Westbrick on the Knicks
How about we fire our head coach, have a disaster of a plan when it comes to trying to hire a new one and then sign Russell Westbrook.

Man Utah colossally ting the bed. Ainge could have had a big pile for Lauri last year and now he's stuck with him. He could have gotten something for Sexton and Clarkson but held onto them. Historic up.

Jazz subreddit seems to be of the mind that this was expected and something that had to happen

He can easily turn Markkanen into Devin, Keldon and Branham with just one phone call.

Russell Westbrook has emerged as a potential free agent target for the Knicks and Al Horford is a top target for Golden State, league sources tell JakeLFischer
    and me
There goes my Knicks/Cavs ECF prediction. No way any team giving Westbrook minutes has a chance in the postseason

they can, but then they'd probably have to move fox before wemby's new money kicks in

Yup....essentially they'd be betting on Dylan to reach his potential.... and I'd take that bet

With Shams teasing lots of "big deals" tonight... I'm hoping the Spurs do another Brian Wright special and pick up some useful players/assets on the periphery of those deals. We don't have cap space, but we have a bunch of various players and SRPs that could be used to facilitate deals.

I have no reason to believe this is happening, but just using this as an example... maybe IND makes a "big move" and we pick up a player like Jarace Walker essentially for free for helping facilitate (a la the Barnes deal last year). That's the kind of thing that would be pretty sweet, picking up an unexpected solution at PF or C for being a facilitator. (Again, not suggesting Walker is on the table or likely... just throwing out an example).

Sounds like Sacramento have decided not to decline Keon Ellis’s option and extend him but to pick it up because they favour signing Shroeder. Ellis will now be making next to nothing and will be unrestricted next summer.

Identify the idiot GM, Brian, and try throwing several seconds at them. They might just bite, who knows.

I'd be fine with it for two years, especially with Portis off the table

I would love Jarace Walker, I'd throw in whatever salary they like (Barnes, Sochan, Wesley, etc), eat some money, throw in a 3-4 2nd rounders... this feels like the next guy who could have a big jump next season.

But yeah, in generic terms Spurs have failed to pick up sufficient long term talent through other means than the draft, Kornet and Yabusele might help but they're temporary patches, I don't see either as long term solutions. But as long as the contracts are reasonable (say, 2-3 years starting at no more than the MLE combined between the two) then it's totally fine. If it's one of them for the MLE and the other through other means, llike S&T, then I like it a lot less. I think the Jaylin Williams, Bobby Portis and Jabari Smith Jr among others should be used as reference not to overpay.
