Will be interesting to see if Bryant can show any flashes in this department. I don’t expect him to be a point forward or anything, but he’s shown some solid vision and passing abilities here and there. For the people who think he was capable of much more than what he showed in his limited role at Arizona…this could be a first glimpse of whether that’s true or not.

Since Harper is out for California, maybe the Spurs will try Bryant out at initiating the offense like they did with Kawhi to see where he was in that department. Anything is possible with this cringe lineup as far as that is concerned.

I don't want Harper to get hurt, but I'm not a fan of how the Spurs baby their players in summer league. They haven't taken SL seriously since 2015, and I think it shows in their development in general. No, guys who are hurt or at elevated risk of injury shouldn't play. But if they're healthy enough to play in a regular-season game, they should play in SL.

I think I agree with that about the babying and they should play if it won't make anything worse, but still, they gotta show a bit of caution as I don't rate SL near a regular season game.

When is the last time a hyped number 1/2 draft pick has played in the Cali summer league? that rarely happens. Spurs had to put some bull reason on on the injury report..Even in Vegas i don't expect Flagg and Harper to play more than 2-3 games.

Castle played two games in the California Classic last summer, but Wemby did not play in the California league in '23.

Clearly this isn’t a real injury, but to keep him from getting injured before the big Giannis trade has time to complete over the weekend (now that Gianni’s has declared his displeasure with the Bucks).
