Cool packets that Texas is sending out to certain recruits.
According to multiple sources, IT saying the staff is picking up their efforts with ATH Jalen Lott ahead of his July 8th decision.
They believe this is partly related to them trailing for WR Kaydon Finley as he looks poised to select Notre Dame this week.
They're not saying it will be enough since USC has the most aggressive offer out to Lott, but it represents a shift in their approach to this recruitment and possibly something that could benefit them later on when recruiting gets more serious in November and December.
Regardless, it's only good strategy to position yourself in case he picks USC and they have another 6-6 or 7-5 season.

Hamilton at OTF said this morning DT Kendall Guervil and his family have suddenly gone to "near zero" contact with Texas.

OTF added that Sark and multiple staff members have been in touch with the Lotts this week.
Oregon and USC's offers remain "considerably higher" than Texas, but the staff hasn't budged on that front.

Spiegelman from On3 has put in Texas picks for OL Felix Ojo, OL John Turntine III and DE Jamarion Carlton.
Wiltfong from On3 had an article today saying the same thing about these three.
He added two interesting notes:
- CB Samari Matthews of Cornelius, NC is leaning Texas, and said it will take "a big move" for South Carolina to win out
- Texas is "climbing the ladder" for LB Brayden Rouse of Marietta, GA, they're the biggest threat to Tennessee and don't be surprised if he commits this weekend
Rumors abound that Ojo will be offered “his own island in the Pacific” type money by… not Texas.
