Rumors abound that Ojo will be offered “his own island in the Pacific” type money by… not Texas.
Keep in mind Hamilton at OTF isn't a huge fan of Ojo as a prospect and won't refer to him as a five-star, but up until today he's said he has a hard time envisioning Ojo and Turntine III at the same school.

Nahlin from IT wrote this morning he thinks it's weird they're both committing on the same day now since they aren't close friends, but he also didn't acknowledge that July 4th is Ojo's birthday.

    Let the roller coaster continue.

I have zero info here and just talking out loud, but I wonder if this could help with Lott despite it seeming as if USC has a bottomless war chest for this class.

Yessir, just throwing out the perspectives of two Texas reporters since things have been unpredictable lately.

48 hours to go, but I believe Ojo and Turntine III to Texas is the safest bet right now.

Wiltfong from On3 had an article today saying the same thing about these three.

    He added two interesting notes:

    - CB Samari Matthews of Cornelius, NC is leaning Texas, and said it will take "a big move" for South Carolina to win out

    - Texas is "climbing the ladder" for LB Brayden Rouse of Marietta, GA, they're the biggest threat to Tennessee and don't be surprised if he commits this weekend
Another one where I'm only making an observation, but a late move on Rouse could be in the cards since the asking price for Atkinson is supposedly ridiculous.

Maybe Sark and staff feel it's enough of a need to strike now instead of waiting it out like they're going to do with other prospects.

Yes, but Feaster reclassified to 2026, he was already young for his grade and family's NIL demands on top of that weren't something the staff wanted to pursue.

It says a lot that he didn't even take an official to Austin.

Im going to be more likely to trust Hamilton.

And I am not an expert at film watching but it appears to me that Turntine has amazing balance and very quick feet for a big guy. There is some film of him "shaving" the DE and getting down field and destroying very quick guys in the secondary by just staying in front of them. Like they could not get out of his zone of influence. Then of course the stoning and moving of HS DEnds almost directly in front of him.
But I just dont completely know what kind of talent is right in front of him. So I guess getting some camp film would be helpful and guys like Hamilton get to see matchups involving equal talent with their eyes.

I guess the fact he plays on North Crowley would indicate Turntine is going up against some of the best talent in the state. But its hard for me to know for sure. Last HS season anyway.
Hope both guys, Turntine and Ojo stay healthy anyways. And I still have no clue why he is liste as IOL.

    For whatever its worth...
The rumor mill on various boards indicated his family was way too involved on "his" financials.
I can see some coaches and the rest of the staff would not want to deal with "child labor" shopped around.
Get the money as early as possible is not always the best decision.

Personally it seems like dealing with a mature 19 yo recruit would be much easier in the long run. And probably why some transfers can be much more realistic concerning long term goals.
When you get a guy like Trey Moore actually understanding why he is useful its gotta help. I suppose the NFL will note his willingness to do what is necessary and can use him in a variety of ways.

IT mentioned today it's not surprising to see such drastic changes in individual recruitments right now because it's all dirtier than it was pre-NIL.

    Illegal payments, fake deals, etc.

    OTF on LB Brayden Rouse...

"Texas is fighting Tennessee hard on Brayden Rouse. Me personally, I think Rouse is a very good fit in the Texas program."

They said Texas would still pursue LB Tyler Atkinson if they managed to land Rouse.

Different LB spots and the staff wants three in this class.

IT commented that it was basically a matter of the staff not vibing with the family and what was being asked.

It wasn't going to be a fit, and I appreciate Sark knowing when to move on in those situations.

Let's see where things are in November when players find out that some of that money is not real. I like that Texas plays the long game and Tyronne Swoops in later.

One thing that sucks about this one is Florida will go harder after DE Jake Kreul.

Yeah, but with Wesley and hopefully Carlton, I think Texas will be ok at the edge position.

247 saying this one sounds like "it could be breaking more towards Texas."

Some on the staff view Rouse as highly as any LB on the board, and they're pushing hard.
