I usually listen to the Blitz on SA Sports Star tbh (94.1 FM). Their sports knowledge is mediocre but the show itself is funny enough imo.
o,
I coming from dallas to san antonio. I was already a Spurs fan to begin with, but I wanted to fully immerse myself into Spurs nation haha. What are some podcasts or sports radio/shows that you guys recommended for spurs fanatics like myself?
In dallas, I been listening to a lot of DLLS podcast and Mavs Moneyball so something comparable to that. I noticed the 'Locked on ____________ podcasts' are generally pretty boring and standard as all teams have their own locked on podcast so wanted something that's more catered towards the spurs culture and city.

Spurs Podcasts are the dregs of amateur sports content, unfortunately.
If you're moving to SA from Dallas just blow off the name Chaparrals and you'll be fine.
unfortunately, the local sports podcasts or talk shows are crap.
But the takes here are world class
IDK what podcasts have to do with where you live, but the only 2 worth listening to are Spot up Pod by Paul Garcia (formerly Spurscast) and Spurs Insider (by the SA Express News).
My advice, move back to Dallas
What about the Mono show
No main spurs podcasts worth checking out on the regular. You can always find a twitter space to hop in but those aren't really that good either.
Yeah 94.1 is enjoyable. Don't go expecting any intelligent discussion though.
On YouTube Sneakers and Cleats with Don Harris and Chuck Miketinac is a local podcast that’s hit or miss. Love You Hard TV has In The Building with Mike Taylor and Rudy J. That’s good for a few laughs. There’s a Baseline Bums podcast on that same channel that’s loaded with homerism. Only problem is you’ll have to suffer through loser Cowboys talk.
Extra Innings with James Pledger on 94.1
Area 210 podcast with Joe Garcia and Mike Jimenez.
I have been enjoying the Area 210 podcast.

I forget his name, he is on YouTube. He is a guy who lives in Connecticut and is a big Spurs fan. He is always making videos about their latest moves and rumors. He also will analyze games live. I think his YouTube channel is TSR.
Spurs content creators are all corny as
Unless it's news, which you'd get on twitter, all of the content is rehashing same stuff we already know. Most of Spurs content is amateur BS. If you still want something to listen to then Spot Up Pod is good because it's stat-driven. I can't stand any of the other ones. Sure Insider is nice because they're actual tenured Spurs reporters and sometimes they'll give you tidbits of their actual experience with the players. Otherwise, I would skip the rest. Area 210 is utter booze-filled nonsense to me. Locked On Spurs is cringe af, and even though the host tries to make it professional, comes off as a high-schooler hosting a sports show. TSR is likely an ST subscriber who just re-reads TimVP's articles, and the other ones are, again, just fan theories and just ST in a vid.
Spot up podcast is hosted by a dude who can‘t say one sentence without stuttering
SSPN
I really enjoy it. It's like Spurstalk without the bad people. Well...no...not empty...you know what I mean.

Lived though the draft lottery and draft itself with them (live). Great content and nice people.

Im in dallas also but im trying to do more Spurs games in San Antonio this season. Where's the best eating spots or Trucks in San Antonio?
I think the SSPN hosts are some of the most polished/professional in the Spurs podcast world, but they'll randomly say that makes me think they are kind of newbs to watching the game or that they don't watch anything other than the Spurs. It's unfortunate, because they at least have good production value and seem committed to a schedule.
I kind of like Small Market Bias with Matthew Tynan, but he only does an episode very sporadically and he always has this "if you only knew what I knew, you'd have a different opinion but I can't tell you what I know, or even give hints... so you should just believe me that my takes are the right ones". A lot of Spurs new media are like this actually, which to me suggests nothing more than they are all full of .
Can't remember really bad stuff from SSPN but I'm only following them for a year or so.
Have to agree with Small market bias. Regarding Spurs only stuff these are the two I'm following regularly.
"Locked on" is a advertisement disaster and really bad and "spurs digest" is even worse. Stay away from those!
There was one specific episode of SSPN where they were talking about draft prospects with some guy who I think covers the Heat, but is a "draft guru" that was pretty cringe-worthy with some of the takes at times.
I think SSPN has the most potential if those guys would embrace/learn analytics in a way that would expand the way the view the game. Otherwise, I think I'd agree it's probably the best of the Spurs pods.
I know which guy you are talking bout. They also talked to him after we drafted DH and CB and he was telling them how great the Spurs did with those picks. It's not that he wasn't ok, but yeah Jude and Ethan probably don't need such guests. Overall I like how relaxed and heady they are. Not that typical clickbait stuff. Just two dudes that love the Spurs.
If you are looking for deep analytics they are not what you are looking for (not sure something like that only regarding Spurs exists, but Thinking Basketball and sites like that cover the exciting stuff). They just make you have a good time while providing some news and being with you eg on draft day (watching this years lottery with them was fun).
You are right, and honestly that more "mainstream" Spurs podcast is probably what they are going for anyway. I wish we had a Vecenie/Lowe/Thinking Basketball level podcast all about the Spurs - but it's not like those types of guys are all that common and that's probably not what most casual listeners of Podcasts want, so it makes sense.
