    Is he mentoring Wemby

    Or just a random meeting?
I read somewhere that it might be for a commercial (Nike or NBA)

I'm trying to think of any power forwards who played for SA that could be helpful. Antoine Carr maybe? No. Let's see. Sidney Green. No. There has to be someone. Thinking...
    LaMarcus Aldridge

I remember seeing a video with LaMarcus a year or so ago, and I think he was saying he'd like to work with Victor but no one has reached out to him? I don't know how true that is, but I think he could definitely help.

Victor would have to be interested. Spurs aren’t just going to arrange it for him. They let him set his agenda.

Jokic says he learned a lot from playing against LaMarcus and I think has watched back film too. LMA was a good player in his prime on offense. No reason Victor shouldn't work with him.

Jokic and Victor are two vastly different players. Jokic plays a lot with his back to the basket like LMA did. Victor does not.

It all comes down to victor. He has to want to work with LMA.

I still think Victor can learn some go to moves from LaMarcus. He doesn't really have any right now. I think LA can help him develop some. Regardless of back to the basket or not, Victor can learn and see if he can incorporate those moves. If he can't hold his ground due to lack of weight, at least he'll still have learned the moves. If he doesn't want to work with him, well, I can't really say much as it's Victor's choice like you've said.

Aldridge does have a face up game that can be quite lethal due to his accurate mid range jump shot. He can nail the shot, pump fake and drive (mostly right), give and go, and he can do effective screen and pops. The thing is that he does have a very strong base to establish position so wemby either has to work to get a stronger base (and core) or he has to learn how to navigate through screens and get the ball at optimal spots to start his offence.

Once wemby gets the ball he has more options as he can shoot over people, he is a very good passer, he can drive as well. What he has to do is first learn how to get the ball at the right positions instead of 35 feet away from the basket. He can then work on the drives without getting stripped, shooting over people with contact, finishing in the paint with moves and counter moves and all that. Having. Wemby work on those Hakeem advanced moves is a bit of a cart before the horse things IMHO. His post moves are rudimentary at best, his body type isn’t yet suitable For that type of game and the team doesn’t have a reliable set of plays to get him the ball at the right spots yet.

He is such a rare generational talent though that even though he’s relatively raw he can already be a top 10, if not top 5 player in the league. If he ever becomes a finished product and get all those little things worked out wemby can be absolutely devastating.

If we get this Wemby for 70 games, i would go ahead and lock the Spurs up for a Top 6 seed. He was majestic in that late Nov-Dec run last year..

If those are his numbers, we’re a top 2-3 seed.

they worked out together at the Spurs facility at some point in his rookie season. I think it was just for a day though.

were we watching the same dirk? he was an all-nba player by year 3, top 10 scorer in the league by year 4
I meant that it took Dirk a long time to figure out how to deal with a smaller player on him.

Hope a week-later reply isn't too late lol
