Too bad for Luka he's a perimeter player and that extra weight makes him even worse defensively.
Tbh I prefer him to be a little fat. His body is like Jokic. They need a little fat to be effective

Y'all think Luka is on Ozempic?
The Luka stuff cracks me up tbh.
"Professional athlete getting paid hundreds of millions of dollars gets in shape...more at 11!"![]()
tbh, he'll probably be fat again by the end of the season. And I don't think him being fat was the reason he's been a defender for a while now, I just think he doesn't care on that end.
I’ve long given up hope on him being a good defender
Just play zone
I'm sure that would work with Lebron/Ayton/Reaves lineups.
Having a historic offensive season is Lakers' only hope because their defense will be tragic even if DPOY Smart makes an appearance.
Tbh if LeBron would just bite the bullet and play PF then that team would have a chance being a contender with the right moves at the trade deadline. He’s too old to be on the perimeter and chasing people around. Every West team has major flaws in it besides OKC for one more year and making the WCFs should be their goal. But as the team is now it would take Luka going nuclear to get past round 1.
As much as I and moan about Wright, he’s clearly on the top half of GMs in the league. I was just spoiled by having a top 5 GM for so long. But Palinka is clearly on the bottom half of GMs. Like the dude had to build around prime AD and all star level LeBron and couldn’t do it. Now he has a better player in Luka and if I’m a Laker fan I have zero confidence that he can build around him either. Luka needs shooters and athleticism and defense and their big acquisitions this summer was no motor Ayton and the corpse of Smart.
Just looking at the West right now and seeing how the dynamics of the teams take place. The Spurs are going to be a lot closer to contenders than most here want to admit. Everyone here wants to hoard our picks but now is the time to use them on a trade for a veteran. We are clearly one piece away from being out of the play-in game and firmly into the playoffs and one Carter Bryant hit from being a legit contender this season.
It took him until age 26 to realize this is what he should do? He lacks discipline, and this won’t last.
The embarassment of the trade gave him extra motivation this offseason. Especially once he sees that his team just isn't a contender as currently constructed the lure of beer and pizza will be too strong to resist.
maybe he has a better sponsor now.
He's spending more time in LA around beautiful people now, rather than the middle school educated, big haired Karens in Dallas. Sometimes that's all it takes to get a young man in shape.
OT, but pour one out for my buddy. The Spurs lost a die-hard Spurs fan yesterday. RIP brother.
Sorry to hear that, Robz. I'll be cheering to his honor tonight.
Life's bigger than basketball, but it's the little stuff that brings us all together.
It's funny hearing people talk about basketball players like they're beyond human sometimes. Is 26 years old "too old" to be working on your discipline now? Must 20yos have it all together from the jump?
I've met far too many 30s, 40yos who don't have a lick of Luka's discipline or work ethic (if you think he turned out as good as he did without them, you're just wrong). Sometimes people need that -slap in the face that life gives you, and then they just grow up and put it all together. Progress isn't linear.
And additionally, considering he was dragging the Mavs to the NBA Finals last season while in much worse shape, I'm not sure he was missing all that much, or needs to have it "last" all that long, to cross the finish line, tbh.
Sorry homie! Getting to the point in my life where my family is mostly elderly. It gets tough some days.
Really sorry to hear that. Was it unexpected? No need to give any details if you don't want to. I don't drink at all anymore, but hearing stuff like this makes me want to have at least one.

Condolences, my Spurs brother. That's always tough.
Sorry to hear that, bud.
We all joke around and talk and whatever here, but end of the day, we're all part of a select group with a common interest. It always sucks to lose a good one in the Spurs family.
The AI inaccuracies and mispronunciations were worth the time lost watching this. D'Aaron Fox is making "229 dollars million" gives me faith, hope and strength to postpone my worry about being replaced in the workforce any time soon.
On the b-ball side of things, I'm psyched to see year 3 Wemby. I could imagine a scenario where he averages 25-30 ppg, 10+ rebs, 4 assists and 4 blocks if he is getting 32-36 mpg. It will take the young guns a good chunk of the season to adjust to playing with him, I predict. There's nothing to prepare even an NBA-quality baller what it's like to have that alien on the floor with you.
Though he's been pretty panned on this forum, I'm hopeful that Mitch shows us why he's been called an "evil genius" and a "maestro." I recall the energy the team had when he first took over as head coach last season. The rotations improved, the offensive flow and defense became more akin to what we knuckleheads had been clamoring for here. There was a bit of a regression after a couple of weeks and that could be for a mul ude of reasons, including trying to go back to Pop's schemes and approaches.
Good god, I'm ready to watch some games!!!!
Very unexpected unfortunately. It's been a rough time.
Condolences to you brah. Lost my best friend back in 2010, sucks. Keep your head up
Condolences, brotha. Life's a trip.
Man I'm sorry to hear that brother. I'll have one for him this evening.
