You had two years to replace it
So my DL is expiring soon and this time around I have to go in.
I checked around the San Antonio area and no appointments available until October.
The earliest time I could get before it expires was today in Corpus so I went today.
Got there this afternoon for them to say the systems were down state wide, sorry for the inconvenience, just come back tomorrow.
But at least we have DPS agents at the border.
Seriously, the idiots running this state.
You had two years to replace it
Most places have a bunch of same day appointments if you have time to wait. The appointments open up at a particular time and/or day. I'd check reddit to get the particulars. I had to wait a couple hours in Pflugerville but got it done in a day.
Lol thanks but since the system was down, they're gonna let me come in first thing in the morning. I'm in Port A this weekend, just figured we'd extend it one night, so I thought it was gonna work out perfect. So much for that.
But damn, nobody should have to check reddit or hope they might be able to get in the same day with no guarantees. This a ridiculous show.
It was pretty stupid. The only decent appointment I could get ahead of time on the day I wanted was in Cuero.
Pretty straight forward, you had two years before the expiration date to go in a get a replacement
Try Boerne, they are surprisingly efficient. Wife just got hers last month...because hers expires in Oct '26 and she didn't want to wait until the last minute
"efficient"
I don't know what you mean by replacement. I needed to simply renew it. I shouldn't have to schedule it two months beforehand let alone two years. And if we do, broadcast the out of it so everyone knows.
I think it's a really easy fix: hire more staff.
I can get in and out for my car tags at the county assessors office in about an hour, same day no appointment. Why isn't the DPS that efficient?
I agree the DMV is way more efficient than the DPS. Even getting your first driver's license as a teenager feels like climbing Mount Everest.
They never have been, it's common knowledge. The flood of migrants and blue state refugees has made it worse. Sorry you waited until the last moment, good luck.
Nope. It's been bad but never this bad and two months out for any normal organization is anything but last minute.
But question pending, why can't they be as efficient as the tax assessor when getting the car tag? What's the difference? No bad "evul imgrunt" guesses.
Republicans aren't good at governing.
I got mine early about 3 years ago because a dude carded me at circle k and told me it was taking up to 6 months to get appointments. It was worse throughout the Biden years.
You may not want to hear about the imgrunts but Texas being a border state certainly plays a role in why licensing and iden y verification is placed under Public Safety rather than just the DMV. I'm sure it could be more efficient under the DMV as Messiah stated but that's how Democrats set it up.
You mean the Covid years. No it was taking 6 months. But Biden doesn't handle the Texas DPS any way. It's the hot wheels crew.
I'm almost not sure who you think runs Texas. You may not want to hear about the imgrunts but Texas being a border state certainly plays a role in why licensing and iden y verification is placed under Public Safety rather than just the DMV. I'm sure it could be more efficient under the DMV as Messiah stated but that's how Democrats set it up.
Your border state theory falls pretty flat considering at almost any border town I can get an appointment in a week or less:

Keep trying to whataboutbiden on this one. It's funny.

I can only imagine how many Trump fixiated posts you ready daily on Reddit. Grieving with anarchist teenagers.
I don't post on reddit.
Weird the you came in here only to change the subject to me.
ChumpDumper fixated.
