Hi everyone,
Apologies for the extended downtime and thank you for your patience. We’ve been dealing with hosting issues and, as a result, have decided to upgrade the forum from the legacy Vbulletin platform to Invision Power. The migration is already in progress and will be fully completed before the start of the pre-season.
All existing data will be transferred, and the new forum will be much more stable and reliable. The outdated Vbulletin system has been creating numerous errors and overwhelming our server’s disk space, so this upgrade will eliminate those problems.
The forum will remain ad-free, and we’re excited to share that LJ Ellis will soon begin publishing articles directly to the homepage.
We truly appreciate your understanding as we make these improvements, and we’re committed to providing a smooth, reliable experience moving forward.

Bull response. Doesn’t explain the complete lack of communication historically here. We have no admin presence for years here. Questions go unanswered. False promises made. This place generally ignores the members who contribute positively here.

And the response about forum upgrade is just not it.
Members who've been here for 20+ years have been begging for not even upgrades, but some transparency about what's going on and noone, LJ included, ever even bothered to acknowledge us.
We kept the place alive during the Spurs darkest era and blatant tanking.
Now that the infrastructure fell apart completely and we made a new forum someone decides to revive spurstalk? For what? For it to be left unattended yet again and for these rampant trolls to constantly ruin every topic?
You had years to acknowledge us, but nobody cared.
If you're to ever get this place back to it's former glory step 1 would be completely deleting the political forum garbage. If you want to talk about overwhelming the server's disk space, that's the first place to look.

Spurstalk civil war! Honestly pretty lame to be deleting posts. Hopefully this serves as an example of what terrible communication achieves. Kinda cool that a new forum was made by former members though.
If activity picks back up n relevant info gets posted that gets chatter going people may come back but right now its deader than other place

I knew that as soon as SniffVP wants people to read a new article of his, this site will be running again…
Ufff... the site has been in a state of disarray for years:
- When the site wasn't down it was barely usable, taking ages to load or post
- Flame wars ensued with no moderation to speak of, with trolls running amok, driving legitimate posters out
- People were constantly reaching out site ownership / administration by any means they could think of (forum threads and posts, PMs, emails) offering help, I lost track how many times scott offered money (and others seconded him), only to be ghosted.
- Other than your year and a half old post announcing changes that never materialized, you didn't even bother to reply or check the forum since April 2024. Your at the time very welcomed post aged like milk, and became sort of a running joke of how badly we were being trolled, not even knowing if you were a legit admin or not.
I assume the site wasn't lucrative or a high priority and no one should be forced to continue providing a free service if they don't want to, but ghosting and neglecting the SpursTalk community for a year and a half after they've tried everything at their disposal to reach out and contribute sure is a strange way to show "commitment", let alone to ask for "understanding".
I started at SpursReport as mg06, then migrated here when that site imploded, and now we're witnessing this site go down as well. If this is it, thank you SpursTalk for all these years.
