Tried to post on baselinebums and it said 'you have insufficient privileges to post here.' Also don't see an option for adding avatar.
Sometimes admin has to approve the registration, it happened to me too, had to wait a few hours but was approved the same day.
Yes I had to verify my email, so that was the slow-up.

Is rather fascinating to see how ST reacted to the blackout.
On one hand its sad that this site came back and no one wants to post anymore, a tiny bit of communication before the blackout would have done wonders to prevent that. Two things caused the collapse of this site. Lack of communication and lack of action when upgrades were promised a year ago! Members now have little faith that upgrades are actually coming or that they will be even worth waiting for.
On the other hand the other site is such a huge upgrade in every way and its beautiful that it was made by members who are passionate about this community of Spurs fans. Because of that this site is losing the civil war... at this point it may be best to admit defeat and surrender the domain or try to partner up with the other site somehow.
There is no war, the other site was a necessity.
Whoever is in charge of this site right now has absolutely zero regard for the community.
They posted that there will be an update before the draft (not this one, but 2024 Castle draft) only to disappear and not be heard from all the way up until last week after the site went down for almost a month.
How can we trust these people? We already endured a couple of seasons with horrible servers, not being able to post during games, the site crashing completely when critical news broke etc.
A lot of members pretty much begged to help them and even invest their own money to update this ancient relic of a forum - no response.
Then they had the audacity to use timvp's account and post grades while completely ignoring that forum was ting the bed and literally took minutes to load.
Baselinebums is what this place could've and should've been with the updates that community would've made free of charge.
But as per usual, most business owners are clueless and careless up until their revenue stream gets cut and then they suddenly start caring. Thanks, but no thanks.
If members that registered 20+ years ago left without hesitation, why would I stay here? Just because the domain name is spurstalk? Then you go down to that political forum cesspool and it's clear why this site got very few new members over the past years and why it's reputation has been ruined by not even a dozen degenerates that keep spamming unhinged nonsense.
It's time for a clean slate. Pop retired, Spurs will be compe ive again, spurstalk isn't about the domain name, but the community. And almost everyone moved on.

Yeah, I don't view this as a "civil war" at all. I'll still check into to SpursTalk, like I am now. I don't have ill will towards this site. I've been here from the beginning and I've loved the conversation over the years... but I've not loved the poor infrastructure in the last few years.
We offered to help, got no reply, so the community took matters into their own hands. Like you said, there is no reason to trust that this forum will ever get upgraded. We've heard the promises before. At this point I just assume it's some psych PhD student conducting an experiment to see how long people will fall for an elaborate troll

I remember when Spurs Report went down I think during the '06 playoffs and all of a sudden everybody went to Spurstalk. The irony now is that Spurstalk lost it's community the same way Spursreport did.

There's no reason we cannot make a thread and discuss the game grades over there as well. It's not like LJ has any plans to interact anymore

I've been on SpursTalk for 21 years. That's more than half of my lifetime.
I hate to see it die, but no one in charge seems to care to keep it alive.
Been on this site forever and hate when it goes down or can't handle the load. That said, another site to read the takes and trolls of basketball is always welcome. Probably will use both sites. There is a dearth of Spurs sites anyway, so I can't afford to be picky where the news comes from.

Logged in the say I’m disappointed AF. Been rocking here for almost 20 years. Whatever the is going on is ridiculous and no communication is worse. I hope ST gets its together but until then Baselinebums.com is the new go to.
