Get ready to mindlessly support another invasion, Rushmore.

...Winehole!? What do you do, recycle years-old threads so we can't comment on current events? And, if you're commenting on current events in years-old threads - also, What the ?!
I think the latest thread on the first page is from October but, the vast majority are from prior years, some dating back to 2017 (or before).
What a cluster of a forum this has become.

If you think of the forum as a clip-file, which I do, it makes more sense to put new posts in related threads than to do new stand-alone threads, unless the post feels thread-worthy all on its own. One advantage of doing this is connecting news with context and previous posting on same or related topics.
Not sure how that prevents you or anyone from commenting on anything you want to -- please feel free to reorient conversations and start the new threads you'd like to see here.
(I'm not the only poster who does this, btw)
Yoni would rather whine about the forum when he shows up than talk about the re ed, evil that criminal Trump is doing.
by and large, right wing SpursTalkers have stopped talking about the politics completely
They have to wait for Friday's marching orders.
Then they'll quickly fall in line.
Well, yesterday, you were the last commenter on 25 of the 30 threads on page 1 -- most from prior years. Are there not any current events anyone wants to talk about or, if they're buried in the threads you keep bringing to the front page, why?
In case you haven't noticed, the SpursTalk Forum has been experiencing some technical difficulties. While I have Google Fiber and the vast majority of websites load instantly on my computer, SpursTalk seems to drag. Sometimes taking 10 to 15 seconds to navigate between pages. If I want to find current events buried in your regurgitated threads, that could take forever.
I get that you don't care but, I can't be the only one that's noticed this page has a fraction of the engagement it once did. Much can be blamed on Chump, Blake, and the like that only flame posters but, a lot of it has do to with the obvious neglect this forum gets technically.
(For instance, I clicked on "Go Advanced" so I could preview and edit this post and it took 20 seconds to navigate to the advanced page.)
Many days, I try to get on here and it either takes forever to load or I'm faced a page of antique threads that, while they may contain current takes, are not worth going into because of how long it takes for the page to load.
I know, you don't care - one man's opinion - blah, blah, blah. But, for what it's worth, it's why I'm here less often. Of course, if you like the echo chamber this place has become, more power to you.
For Blake (who I blocked long ago) and you, I'd love to talk politics - recent politics - but, if I have to wade through antique threads to find your current takes, it's not worth my time. Particularly given the amount of time it takes just get in the thread.
Can't speak for other posters but, I'm engaged less because of the technical difficulties attendant with even logging in -- frustrated by being faced with old threads it would take half a day to navigate through, to see if there is any fresh content worth considering.
It's that simple for me.

you really only make your own bubble threads and ignore everything that really happens in the world.
Agree about navigation being pitifully slow.
Forum search tools work well enough for me when I'm searching for topics/threads. Recent takes by posters can be found on profile pages, threads themselves can be searched for usernames and keywords.
It can be tedious, but it's easy and workable for me.
YMMV

Also, you can just post the things you want to talk about as new threads.
Is that not working so well?

Like I said, for me it's a default clip-file if little else. Engagement with other posters is more or less welcome too.
In passing I would note that history unfolds over time, so the gripe that new posts appear in old threads seems idiosyncratic to me. Things are connected by content, theme and subjects -- treating all new topics/stories as being absolutely novel and discrete is more or less bird-brained.
yoni still pissed that people remember his rabid and unflagging support of the Iraq War.
Yoni seems to dislike being reminded of his own posts, but I suppose any poster who fails so often might
*do ents still being translated*
that's basically his excuse for the Epstein files -- except they're being redacted.
Two of the last three Democratic Party nominees for President VOTED FOR the Iraq War. And Kamala probably would have to if she were in the Senate at that time.
You people need to look in the mirror and at your own party's failures.
THAT'S IT HE'S BLOCKING YOU TOO!
I'm talking about Yoni. Yoni wasn't and isn't a nominee for anything, you idiot.
It's astounding how stupid you are these days.
I know who you're talking about. And I'm telling you to look in the mirror, stupid. You enthusiasticlly voted TWICE for Iraq War supporters.
do you think whataboutism is your superpower, dude?
He said the decider, for whom he voted and whose administration manufactured evidence upon which others voted, would be on Mount Rushmore several times on this board.
Did I ever do such a thing?
Yes or no.
everyone who ever voted for Obama is obviously a demented cultist, it's just common sense
