The economy wasn't as bad under Biden as people said and something similar is true of Trump now. But ac ulated/ac ulating inflation really pisses people off.
Biden was more or less saddled with the aftermath of countercyclical spending (glad Trump and Biden both did it) and a chaotic supply crunch (not Trump's fault) that started under Trump.
By contrast, Trump is intentionally mashing buttons (global tariffs and war in the Persian Gulf) that make prices go up.

I think TSA has a point that Trump's poll ratings are not 1:1 correlated with the polled question
One hypothesis is that Trump's detractors are delusional or irrationally biased

And, with many Red states following up with CONS UTIONAL redistricting plans of their own, it appears the GOP appears to gain 11+ seats in the mid-term. And, that's not even counting the RINOs being replaced in Indiana and Ohio. Anything can happen but, when you examine just the result of the Tennessee redistricting, wherein an old White Male Democrat is probably going to be replaced by a Black Female Republican, you have to wonder why it took so long for the Republican Party to figure out the Democrat gerrymandering wasn't intended to give minorities a vote, it was intended to keep Democrats in power and minorities on the Democrat Plantation.

The big plus here is that Spanberger and the Democrats pulled out all the stops (spending about $100 Million of their dollars and $5 Million of their taxpayer's dollars) to pass this piece of legislation that couldn't even pass muster for their own ing Supreme Court. The political capital spent by Hakim Jeffries, Barack Obama, and other stars of the Democrat Party wasn't enough lipstick on that pig to make it appealing. , it only passed 51 to 49, after all that.
