I think it could happen
Trump's approval keeps getting lower with white people and Republicans.
83% approval among Republicans isn't stellar for the bestest Republican president ever

I still have no faith in Texas to do the right thing and vote against Paxton.

and Paxton himself is a mustache-twirling crook, very hard to like
Talarico: "It's funny because I'm the eighth-generation Texan in the race. I think California transplants like Ken Paxton can become Texans. That's what great about our state."
Smh Texas is turning into a giant hole
As we've seen before, that can flip in a hurry by election day.
They just keep pushing boys in girl sports and they'll catch back up
not so sure that will work this time
the enthusiasm gap favors Dems relative to 2024 and Republicans are currently receiving the thermostatic reaction of a pissed off electorate
My hope is definitely greater but I'm not holding my breath either.
Evangelicals don't care that they'll be paying $5 a gallon soon...... they only care about baby killing and transgender Boogeyman issues.
https://www.texasobserver.org/senate...-christianity/.....“One of the few openly Christian politicians in the United States who acts like a Christian.”
That’s how conservative New York Times columnist David French recently characterized James Talarico and the Texas Democrat’s “faith-forward” campaign for the U.S. Senate. It should come as no surprise that Talarico walks the Christian walk: He’s currently on leave from his training for the ministry at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary (APTS).
However, given the MAGA Christian response to the young politician-seminarian, you might think it was the Antichrist running for the Senate. He’s been called “demonic,” a “fake Christian,” and “blasphemous,” with “very, very radical and extreme views.” One Newsmax host accused him of using “fake passages from the Bible, tortured and misrepresented.” Talarico has drawn fire for characterizing God as “nonbinary,” though he later explained he meant God is “beyond gender” (a common theological notion). U.S. Representative Ronny Jackson, an Amarillo Republican, said the statement showed Talarico is “a full-on RADICAL LEFTIST!!”
Such over-the-top rhetoric is a sad fact of life in this age of post-truth hyperbole. But the ferocity of anti-Talarico invective reveals a deep and very public clash between two distinct ways of being Christian.......
www.foxnews.com/official-pollsTexas Senate Race (Fox News):
Talarico (D) 51%
Paxton (R) 48%
July 23-27, 2026
The only demographic there that surprises me are Hispanics. I thought they'd be closer to 80% in favor of Talarico.
Trump is nine points underwater in Texas
I drove on I-10 to Florida this week and saw one Trump sign the whole way there and back -- it was a roadside billboard with Charlie Kirk and Kash Patel, thanking God for them all
I saw zero Trump bumper stickers on cars and zero MAGA hats. I was in Florida for three days.
Anecdotally speaking, you can definitely see plenty of MAGA flags/posters if you travel the small towns through the Bible belt in Texas. I saw plenty myself heading to Lake Travis last month and then up around Fredericksburg.
Texas is a whole nother deal, but I drove through east Texas twice this week on Ih-10 and saw zero Trump regalia apart from the previously mentioned billboard, and that was in Louisiana
I had a wingman, we were watching out for it the whole way
https://www.rawstory.com/ken-paxton-senate-2677676051/“Where’s Paxton?” Fox News host Jesse Watters is quoted as complaining. "I’ve seen Mitch McConnell more than Paxton and McConnell’s been in the hospital all summer. Get out of your hole Paxton and do something.”
yoinking the Mont Blanc pen at the courthouse where his indictment for financial fraud was happening, was extra y contumelious
voters keep reminding him he cheated on his wife in public
poor guy
went on Fox News the other day to beg for money
Paxton's deputy legislative director and policy advisor bails, joins Talerico campaign
https://www.rawstory.com/james-talarico-2677718167/Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico just hired a five-year veteran of Republican Sen. John Cornyn's office to help sink GOP nominee Ken Paxton.
Jacob Smith, who served as Cornyn's deputy legislative director and policy adviser, is joining Talarico's campaign as deputy political director," NOTUS reported on Monday.
Smith didn't hold back explaining his switch, saying, "Ken Paxton is the most corrupt, self-dealing politician in Texas who would sell their futures to the highest contributor just to hold onto power."
Will the photo op actually be with Trump?
Maybe a cardboard cutout of 1988 version of Don
