Mike Johnson doing the fake TJ prayer harkens back to a simpler time, surely he knows where this comes from

But you have to wonder if any concessions were made by Johnson. He did look a little uneasy when he came out of that meeting.
Johnson talking up another CR
Republicans can't pass a budget or govern
But can stomp a good sized mudhole in Clinton, Biden, & Harris assholes.

Johnson, like past SOTH, are and have always been worthless.
Mike Johnson has lost control of his own party, bills are being raised and passed with bipartisan discharge pe ions
https://www.axios.com/2025/12/16/mik...te-republicansHouse GOP moderates are threatening to cut a deal with Democrats after Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) ruled out giving them a vote on extending expiring Affordable Care Act subsidies.
GOP Rep. Mike Lawler has signed the Democratic discharge pe ion for a 3-year ACA funding extension.
He's the second Republican to do so.
Two more and it gets to 218.
www.wakeuptopolitics.com/p/this-centu...www.everycrsreport.com/files/200304...CRS has a detailed look at the history of discharge pe ions in the House of Representatives thru 2003
there had been 5 discharges since 1971, and now there have been 5 just during this congress
(ok, it turns out three is the real number of discharge pe ions that passed and then got voted on in this Congress, but that's still a lot)
Jeffries' discharge pe ion for an ACA 3-yr subsidy extension passes, will receive a vote on the floor

Republicans in disarray
Just terrible at governing
House Republicans adjourned last night without agreement on a rule, tried to bring the Rules Committee back this morning to figure out a way forward, failed, and are now totally adrift. Budget resolution, FISA, Farm Bill all up in the air.
https://thehill.com/homenews/house/5...rge-pe ions/“If the House Floor was managed properly, discharge pe ions would never be needed,” Fitzpatrick posted Tuesday on social platform X. “A successful discharge pe ion is clear and direct evidence of a poorly managed House Floor—because it demonstrates that the will of the majority of the People is being thwarted by the privileged few. Leadership of both parties have been guilty of this for years.”
where's the NDAA?
getting Dems to vote for it used to be a layup, now the GOP speaker can't even get his own caucus in line
https://www.cnn.com/2026/06/30/polit...-luna-save-act...Speaker Mike Johnson has once again lost a battle against hardline conservatives for control of his own House floor — and he has no clear way out.
A small group of GOP hardliners, led by firebrand Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida, effectively seized the floor from Johnson this week, refusing to allow him to move on their own party’s priorities until Republican leaders come up with a plan to pass President Donald Trump’s federal elections overhaul bill.
By Tuesday afternoon, Johnson was forced into one of the most humiliating possible positions for a House speaker: He conceded he could not regain control of the chamber and instructed members to leave Washington early. It’s the second straight week that GOP leaders have had to scrap their plans, this time losing out on nearly an entire week’s agenda.....
the votes in Congress were veto proof, Trump is shooting himself in the foot and pissing off Republicans for no good reason

the housing bill becomes law tomorrow if Trump does nothing
