    enemy gets a vote

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a clear public warning to the U.S. that any damage inflicted on Iran’s power infrastructure will be met with decisive retaliation. Specifically, IRGC spokesperson Brigadier General Ebrahim Zol hari threatened the “complete and utter annihilation” of U.S. and Israeli facilities. The ‘hidden’ $30 billion Stargate AI datacenter in Abu Dhabi was singled out as a juicy target for Iranian destruction later in the video. The threats come on the heels of Iran reportedly delivering enough damage via rocket strikes to some Amazon AWS data centers that they have shut down.

lol so much wrong with that AI slop.

    Independent DMX7 approves.
Totally on brand really: make bold claims against the Persians, then get utterly wrecked.

The difference - and I can't believe I'm about to say something nice about the Spartans - is the Spartans had the good sense to keep with their allies.

    Diesel inventories near 20-year low.

“.. The decline is all the more striking because inventories are usually growing at this time of year. .. The $5.60 price of diesel at the end of August was 62% higher than its $3.50 price in early January.”

The U.S. military hit targets in Iran on Tuesday and Tehran fired missiles and drones in response as hostilities flare once again in an intermittent war that has lasted more than six months. One U.S. strike hit a home hosting a wedding, killing two people and wounding dozens, local officials said.

is this what winning the war and control of the Persian Gulf look like?

The Navy’s highest-ranking officer told sailors during a town hall on Monday that it would be a while before the service would return to its main logistics hub in the Middle East after it was heavily damaged early in the Iran war.
Answering a displaced service member’s question about retrieving personal goods from the base they previously called home, Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Daryl Caudle said the Navy would not be using Naval Support Activity Bahrain for the foreseeable future.

no declaration of war, therefore no benefits for the bereaved spouse

The Air Force is reviewing the case of a Gold Star widow from Alabama who wrote on social media that she was deemed ineligible for additional benefits following her husband’s death because Congress had not officially declared the military operations in Iran a war.

A spokesperson for the Air Force said in a statement that military officials spoke Monday with Libby Klinner, the wife of Maj. John Alexander Klinner, who was one of six service members killed when an aircraft crashed in Iraq during a refueling mission on March 12. The spokesperson added the Air Force wanted to ensure Klinner received “all eligible benefits she and her family are en led to.”

    ...

Two days later, Klinner said the director of mortuary affairs informed her the Air Force was “initiating an audit on our benefits to ensure that we receive all that we are en led to.”

The Air Force spokesperson said in a statement that they are “committed to addressing her concerns with care and respect,” but did not elaborate on why Klinner was initially told she was not en led to the extra benefits. The Air Force did not answer questions on whether other Gold Star families have also experienced similar issues.
