    good thing SCOTUS has blessed political gerrymanders

    soon it will be time for a brisk Ginamander

    Republicans have gerrymandered Texas so badly that even though Democrats got 53% of the vote for the U.S. House candidates, beating Republicans by over 500K votes, Republicans still get 63% of the 38 seats.

    In Georgia, Gov. Brian Kemp rejected calls for a special session to redraw congressional maps or limit the powers of Gov.-elect Keisha Lance Bottoms, the Atlanta Journal-Cons ution reported. Bottoms’ win ended 24 years of Republican control of the governor’s mansion.

    “The voters of our state have spoken,” Kemp said, although he did leave open the possibility of calling lawmakers back to deal with state finances.

    Colom about 2,000 votes ahead in MS

    Affidavit ballots broke for Democrat Scott Colom by a 69%-29% margin in Lafayette Co home to Ole Miss. The affidavits far exceed his overall lead there against Cindy Hyde-Smith, which is 49%-48%. Affidavit ballots are expected to break for Colom by similar margins across the state.

    besides Hispanics breaking sharply for Dems, the big story is the depolarization of white voters in southern states who voted for Dems

    bad policies, weirdo candidates and a stupid war in the middle east will do that

    Some more bonkers stats here: white voters in the South aged 18-29 are now essentially voting like northern Democrats.
    ('24-->'26 swing in parentheses):

    · Alabama: 45% (D+38)
    · West Virginia: 47% (D+41)
    · Kentucky: 47% (D+39)
    · Florida: 52% (D+28)
    · Georgia: 52% (D+32)
    · South Carolina: 52% (D+38)
