No.
2000-2001 ACB league, FC Barcelona: Pau Gasol: 7'0", 227 lbs, 11.4 pts, 5.2 reb, 0.8 ast, 1.1 blocks in 24 mpg, age 20 at beginning of season
2006-2007 ACB league, Tau Ceramica: Tiago Splitter: 6'11", 222lbs, 11.3 pts, 5.4 reb, 0.7 ast, 0.8 blocks in 24 mpg, age 21 at beginning of season
Of course, Pau shot more 3's and is a little more of a shotblocker. What do you guys think?
Splitter doesn't have the shaggy grizzly adams beard.

True
Of course, I realize that Splitter is way too foul prone to play Gasol minutes even if he did develop like Gasol did. I'm also aware that he hasn't given any indication of doing that. Just wanted to stir the pot a bit (it's a long summer).
Im sure that Gasol was much younger when he posted those numbers
Splitter is an old man for a prospect
I posted this realizing that it was a stretch . . . hence the ?? in the thread le. However, he was a year and a half younger, not much younger.
Gasol was a little younger, but 22 is old?
That's the age players get out of college.
Tiago will be the first Tiago![]()

22 is the new 30.
Or more if you're Greg Oden![]()
Lets be real. When Leandro Barbosa is leading your team in scoring how good can everyone else be?
I guess he likes 'em young.
Tiago will be playing on a better defensive team than gasol alongside bowen, udoka, and timmy, which could make him very effective and do even better.
Tiago 15 points on 6/11 and 11 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal, 2 assists and 4 TOs in 34 minutes. Too bad Barbosa is such a gunner and hog. If Brazil had a guard Splitter could show more.
Splitter is good at tapping balls out for rebounds a la Oberto.
Splitter has a lot of work to do if he's to have Gasol's offensive skills in the post.
Agree. Tiago game is like Oberto. He also good in pick and roll plays. Too bad Leandro doesn't give him the ball back. But Tiago is younger and more athletic. Next season I hope he can learn a lot from Fabricio and TD.
I dont know about him being as good as gasol. gasol was rookie of the year... I think splitter is going to help us out but I dont see a rookie of the year in his future.
and you could stop posting stupid things to
In this tournament, Splitter is 56.5% from the floor
50% from the line
100% from the arc
As far as Euroleague goes, he was about 58% from the floor.
