This kind of reminds me of the "Spurs are dirty!" that Amare said after the Suns lost game 1 at home. Pats suddenly fail to blow out a team and start complaining.

    CBS checks in
    By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff

Following up on the crowd noise issue in the RCA Dome, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello passes along the following:

"CBS has informed us that the unusual audio moment heard by fans during the Patriots-Colts telecast was the result of tape feedback in the CBS production truck and was isolated to the CBS broadcast. It was in no way related to any sound within the stadium and could not be heard in the stadium."

Yea, Im sure CBS has a vested interest protecting the Colts

Whether or not they used crowd noise, I was impressed with the Colts. I didn't think they could touch the Patriots. Granted, they repeatedly got huge calls and still lost at home, but they were still in the same league as the Patriots. Marvin Harrison wasn't there as well. Colts have cemented a nice spot at #2.
I would agree to a point. The Colts defense looked crazy fast. Their overall speed on defense has to be as strong as any teams in the league. And, I have no doubt that was the best defense the Pats saw all year. But, I wouldn't go too far praising Indy for being in the game for several reasons.

    1. It was at Indianapolis, and with that crowd as crazy as it were, the Colts still had a decided advantage even without Marvin Harrison. The crowd was dead silent when the Colts offense was line-up before a snap. And, they were deafening when the Pats lined up.

    2. The Pats really killed themselves with penalties. Now some are directly attributable to the Colts play and the crowd. But, they had some major penalties you don't expect from them.

    3. Two of the bigger penalties called were totally bull . The offensive pass interference on Moss and the pass interference call on Hobbs near the end zone. Both were bad calls.

    4. The only TD pass Manning threw for on the delayed screen to Addai before the end of the first half was more of a fluke than the Colts offense just outplaying, outsmarting, or outmuscling the Pats defense. Take nothing away from Addai for breaking tackles, but I really don't think the Colts should have ever scored on that play.

    5. And, lastly, the last two drives by Brady and the Pats offense pretty much showed that the Pats could do whatever they want on offense when they are focused and ready to play. It was like no defensive resistance in those last two drives. The Colts defense couldn't do anything. So, when the game was on the line and the Pats offense knows it has to make plays, it made two touchdown drives look easy ... and I mean EASY.

And yet the Colts had a fg blocked, had an easy td dropped, and were playing without their starting left tackle. im also pretty sure that Wayne dropped a big catch that would have changed the game as well. Colts could have EASILY won that game.

I think the game changed after Wayne dropped that ball. It was an EASY catch. And for every excuse that Pats fans makes, the Colts have ones as well. You named a few. Also, not having Harrison was mentioned. Don't forget that Bob Sanders got hurt at the end of the game, which made a HUGE difference in Moss getting so open for that 55 yard bomb there at the end. And there was a terrible call on the Colts as well, on Bethea for an interference call on Moss (Moss caught the ball anyways, but the fact is, the refs called it regardless). It was equally ticky-tacky as the Hobbs call. The Samuel call was so ing obvious, I don't know how the Pats fans could question that. He straight up grabbed the guy's jersey. It might have been a little overthrown, but it was so ing blatant that you absolutely have to call that. Obviously he was trying to do whatever he could to keep Gonzales from getting to the ball. If he knew that it was overthrown, he would not have felt it was neccesary to grab his jersey, would he have?

Seriously, the Pats. They whine too ing much. I like Brady, but this year, I have lost a lot of respect for him. He has turned into the whiniest QB in the league. All I ever see him do is whine at the refs over nothing. ing .

I'm not saying the Colts could not have won.

But, I do think New England pretty much showed they were clearly the better team with those last two drives. Manning didn't do much against that New England defense. Take away that Addai screen pass to end the first half, and Manning throws 15 for 26 for 152 yards. Manning had maybe five impressive throws the entire game.

I'm not saying the Pats are miles ahead of Indy or that Indy cannnot beat the Pats. But, I think Pats are clearly the better team. Not by a lot, but clearly better.

Brady's whining this year has pretty much bridged the gap for calling the Pats the Spurs of the NFL. Now, he's undeniably the equivalent of Tim Duncan on the Patriots.

Funny that the Patriots get caught cheating earlier this year and now they're narking on the Colts just to save face a bit.

    1) They were at home...that's the way it goes.

    2) The Colts made some pretty boneheaded mistakes too...it happens. That's why they play the games. The Indy drive at the end of the game is what really killed them...I think there were 3 penalties in a row.

    3) I'm not going to touch that one. No matter what I say, people will say it's only because I'm a Colts fan.

    4) It was a fluke for the Colts to make a big play? Give me a break.

    5) It's funny...when the Colts were controlling the game, all the ass kissing went Indy's way...suddenly, when the Patriots turned it around at the end, people say things like "NE can do whatever it wants against the Colts."

The Colts made some lame mistakes down the end, but they're fixable mistakes. Indianapolis is NOT the inferior team everyone wants to believe it is.

Are you really a Patriots fan...Mono is disguise, maybe? Give me a break.

I believe the Colts were missing 4 starters.
I don't know if they would've changed the outcome of the game, but perhaps it would've. It's foolish for people to think that Indy is the lesser of these two teams.

  13. #38
If the Colts are found guilty of this then they should have to forefit their championship last season, along with the 3 the Pats should have to forefit for cheating. All 4 should go to the Cowboys just because they are America's Team.

Dallas Cowboys - 9 Time Super Bowl Champion.

When the season started I really thought Charlie Johnson should have been the starter at left tackle, but Tony Ugoh has been pretty slick all year and not having him the past two weeks has exposed some flaws that will hopefully go away when he comes back.

We started the game without Marvin, Tony and Freddy, and ended the game without Gonzo (who was starting for Marvin). I'm hopeful about the playoff grudge match, especially if we're healthy all around. I don't think the Pats can beat the Colts a second time, especially because Addai tore them up all day and their game plan for the rematch will almost certainly be to take him out of the equation. Which opens up practically everyone else. This loss hurts but it's only a regular season loss, and there are some bright rays of hope to take from it.

Yeah. I was bummed for about 5 minutes after, but got over it. I think there were a lot of positives, but there were also some negatives for them to work on...none of their mistakes yesterday were insurmountable, so that's exciting.
It's always a good matchup, so I'm looking forward to the next one.

I'm still bummed. During football season, Sunday is the only day of the week that matters (occasionally Monday or Thursday matter), and every other day of the week is spent finding something to do to pass the time till Sunday.

I would be more bummed if the Colts had been completely dominated by the Patriots, but we held the Patriots to their lowest point total of the year and they only won by 4 as opposed to 20 or more. Good game by the Colts.

Not blaming the Colts for being at home. That's the way it goes. But, it's clear that there was a decided advantage in terms of noise depending who had the ball. What's there to dispute about that?

Moss did not interfere when he got called for offensive pass interference. It was bull , period. Hobbs did not interfere the time he got called for defensive pass interference, period. Samuel absolutely interfered with Gonzalez on his pass interference.

Let me clarify what I said about the Addai play. Of course the Colts are capable of big plays. But, a running back screen play for a 73 yard touchdown? Not exactly what you expect from a Colts "big play." It wasn't a fluke in that it was a miracle play or anything like that. But the Colts weren't trying for a big play. They were running the clock out unless they got better field position on one of their running plays or screens. New England's secondary were playing soft to not allow a big play. It was a fluke in that the play was not drawn up to score a touchdown. It was more about running the clock out with a safe play. Addai still had to run it and still had to break tackles. But, if I told you Peyton Manning threw a 73 yard touchdown pass, would you guess it was a 5 yard dink screen pass that went for 73 yards? Of course not. To me, it was more lucky than anything.

Indy's defense played great for most of the game. I wouldn't say they ever controlled the game. There was never an instance during that game where anyone would have said, oh Indy has this game wrapped up. And, the last two New England drives pretty much says that the Patriots offense could do anything they like. Down 10 with 7 minutes to go, and they score one touchdown in less than a minute, and another less than 4 minutes later? That's an offense that can do anything they want.

I'm not a Patriots fan. In fact, I don't like them. But, I watched the game. And, I gave my opinion. To me, the Patriots are clearly the better team. Indy is very good. Very, very good. But, the Patriots are better.

except the pats won and pats aren't the only team.

It's not the first time Indianapolis has been accused of such tactics. The Pittsburgh Steelers complained about the same thing after a 26-7 loss at the dome in November 2005. Since then, other teams have informally contended there is artificial noise pumped into the dome.

I'm waiting for Polian to start lobbying for the "Peyton Manning Penalty" when the opposing team is flagged 15 yards for hurries or takedowns and half the distance to the goal when he is sacked.

true, but was that a catchable pass in the first place?
