There is no team more hated and loved than the Dallas Cowboys.
There is no team that pulls in the highest ratings consistently as the Dallas Cowboys.
Nobody was a Patriot fan before 2001 except for people in Boston.
You may have been successful this century. The Cowboys are still historically the more superior franchise.
Dallas is still America's Team. As Ditka said on Sunday, the Patriots will NEVER be America's Team.

how can the cowboys be Americas team if there one of the most hated teams in the league, doesn't make sense to me

"america's team" is a marketing pitch and nothing more, anyone who thinks otherwise is a dip . Also is dallas was america's team then it's been pretty ty for america for the past 11 years huh?
Than I guess this country was. I also guess that marketing pitch works huh. Considering Dallas had ESPN's, CBS, Fox, and NBC's highest rating NFL games ever for each respective network in 2006. It is no coincedence that there are Cowboy fans in every corner of this country. I live in Washington D.C. now and the second largest fanbase in this area is the Dallas Cowboys. And most Cowboy fans up here never set foot in Texas. It is the same around this country. Like I said, no team is mroe hated or loved in the nfl than the Dallas Cowboys.

America's Team is only a name and it is the Dallas Cowboys and I and many other Cowboy fan LOVE the jealousy in a name that is so revered.

I don't mean to side with popshark but I do agree that sports media marginally responsible for some of the most overrated sports stars out there. Experts and TV analysts can't make athletes perform like a bust, but when you have people saying "this dude is the next MJ" or "this dude is the next Joe Montana" or some like that, and the dude ends up a bust, who is really to blame for most people thinking said athlete was a stud when they're really a bust?

Romo is legit, but I can definitely see people saying that the media made Lebron more famous than he should be.

Hmm, the Giants have beaten the Jets, Niners, Eagles at home, the Falcons, Dolphins and Skins on the road. Not like the Cowboys have played the toughest schedule themselves, but why am I supposed to fear the G-Men? They don't have a single quality win.

People tune in to see Dallas win. People also tune in to see them lose. They are a rating guarantee, which is why the NFL left them in the Eastern Division of the NFC, when logically, that makes no sense.

They are America's team in the sense that most either love or revile them, but cannot resist watching, which is all good for the NFL.

This is very true. While I don't hate the Cowboys, I have watched their games just to see if they would lose. Today is a good example.
